With the amount of time I'm putting into this game, I'm lucky the wifey likes playing it with me.
She loves huts. Every time we start a game we have to build one unit for the sole purpose of seeking out huts.

I haven't really played since December - I always have this problem with these games (SimCity/Sims/Civ/etc.) where I get really into them and get bored within a week or so. After a while its all the same

Once I learn the deke move that always works, the game gets boring.

Yea I really dont like the millitary strategy put into this game there are no seperate battles from the map. I still rise of nations is probably the best RTS.

I vote for Rome: Total War in terms of separate battles, large scale strategy and managing your dynasty 
In terms of pure large scale strategy: Hearts of Iron 2, simulating World War 2, chose any nation that historically existed and go from there!

Occasionally if one of your captains does well in a battle you control, you can adopt him into your family.
