I have only 1 question. Who has passed out, or come near passing out trying to get an NES game to work by blowing in it back in the day? That is All.

 

Nope. Never needed to either.

But, I am kinda wondering what was the reason for doing so? My cartridges were always stored in their plastic covers and put in the shelving cabinet where little dust got in...

Sorry, a tad anal here. But, I mean geez, Nintendo nicely provided those plastic black sleeves...so, why not use them?

 

I used to pull the cartridges out from underneath the couch with dust all in them. I can imagine you, being young and anal with your games making all of your friends wash their hands before touching your toys and shit.

 

You're not far from the truth there! Still got my old toys (i.e. TFs and stuff) in pretty good shape!

 

Never with Nintendo, but definitely a few times for my Atari 2600.

 

I used to fix them up with a little rubbing alcohol. The Atari ones that is. I never had a NES, but it used to make me crazy at my friend's house.

 

there was always the one kid that everyone bowed to because he had the magic technique that made every game work

 

ah man i remember those days (almost forgot) i think there were a few times that i got light headed from doing that

 

Who had to put 2 games in at once? One to play and the other to hold the game down

mine need two games to work and the cleaning kit.

 

never needed 2 games to work. But, as far as the go to guy, that was my cousin, he had this method of blowing on the edge and "pushing" the dust out.

 

I never passed out, but I constantly had to blow my games in order for them to work. I use windex with a cotton swab to clean my games.
