My old PS1 (modded) was able to play Japanese games. would the Ps2 be the same?

jap games are NTSC also.
euros have like a different tv view things. something like a size differents and like the line thing. i forgot. but unless your TV has pal viewable projection or conversion of some sort, you wont be able to play PAL games, even with chip. it will turn on, but your tv wont be able to support it.

use your monitor as TV... that's what I do... I'm not talking about those that must have the computer on... those are usually multisystem.. I can play PAL or NTSC

I hate it when fockers like above simply post NO with no explanation.

The fact of the matter is that a PS2 can play both NTSC and PAL Material, the problem is that a PAL signal out of the back of the PS2 will only be able to be displayed on a TV supporting PAL data. Or if you had a PAL to NTSC converter in the middle.
