Battlefield 2 Demo

I'm surprised there's not a thread for this game yet. Is no one playing it??

I've played maybe a total of 3 hours and it's pretty damn good!

The resources this game uses is incredible tho. I quit the game and got a virtual memory warning. I have a gig of ram in this system and 3x that in swapfile space so I don't know why it's bitching.

Aside from that the game plays really well once everything is loaded. Even at medium for the graphics, things look great. Very realistic but I like the choppers better in POE; much more maneuverable. They dumb them down in BF2 so they're easier to fly.

I will be buying it on the 22nd.

$29??? How'd you get that? Yeah, the T-shirt and headset are lame; it's the $15 giftcard that makes it a deal.

Mixouse, the pictures shown are Med settings with a ATI 9800 Pro,

In your icon on your desktop, right click and enter what is below into Target

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Try that and see if it makes a difference.

srika,

you can fly anyone the jets and heils.........

Your right the water does look real..

A little. I typically have ping of ~20 and experienced some choppiness, but overall it wasn't bad, only annoying. I did experience some CTDs and clicking on the "play now" button threw the game into nonresponse mode.

There's some issues I'm having with lag too, even with low pings so there might be some coding issues there. Nothing a patch can't fix.

I've played a lot of POE, the mod to BFV, and I'm used to flying the coppers there. The choppers in BF2 are seriously dumbed down most likely to make it easier for beginners. They move like pigs tho. Too bad they don't offer a toggle for beginner and advanced pilots.

Aside from that, the game is great but playing some of the new maps with 64 players can be frustrating. Death comes quick and from unknown directions.

Oh, is anyone using Gamespy instead of the built-in multiplayer (crapola) interface? I can't get GS to see the game as being installed!!

P.S. I'm upgrading my processor b/c of this game. AMD 64 3700+ Claw Hammer. It needed it anyway.

^^^ how much RAM you got installed

As for the lag there are a few quick fixs, when i start on a map, i'll get Lag for about 30secs but once i move around, its smooth sailing...and its gone.

I'll post some tips about how to get rid of the lag later

I have a Gig or ram, Corsair XMS 3200, 2x512.

Last night I was on a 32 player server with a ping of 40ish and had no lag so it's def. the server and the ping of the other plays, as usual.

Do the server admins have a player ping restrictions??

And yeah, post the tips!!

Hey F900 wat demo verison do you have because that doesn't look like the demo I have. But anyways, the demo I have has taken countless hours of my life, becuase its so addictively fun. Since my PC could run the demo do you believe I can run the full verison too, it would make sense wouldnt it?

PC Specs:
1.47 Ghz AMD XP
512 SDRAM
120 gig HD
Geforce FX 5200 128DDR
56 k

I know I will never never ever play this game online, but single player is just too fun.

The 1.03 patch is delayed!

But, ATI peeps, upgrade to Catalyst 5.8 to fix some bugs with BF2.

Is Battlefield Vietnam in the same 'series' as BF 2? Or are they completely un-related?
