base-jumping game in development

Someone I know is big into skydiving and just sent me this link - the game is called B.A.S.E. and is designed to be a base-jumping simulator. He expects it to be full of bugs if its ever seen to completion, but the good thing is that the developers are on the skydiving forum he's on and are actively taking suggestions and providing feedback, as far as the game is concerned.

http://d3company.com/index.html

I don't know of any other skydiving-type games, I would imagine its hard to simulate that. It's nice to see one in development. No word on when this might be finished.

There's a 44mb game footage video link on the News page, unfortunately I was only getting 16k/s.

I really can't think of anything less exciting than a game about BASE jumping

From a physics modeling standpoint, yeah it could be cool. But as far as an exciting standalone game Base jumping and parachuting have been built into dozens of games over the years and I can't think of any time when it has been overly exciting.

thinking more about it - I would have to go ahead and agree with you - I don't see how this game would be interesting to play. I think I was drawn by the fact that some group of developers had set out to make such a simulator..

I like the idea of the physics aspect of it.
I like that they're getting real community support.
I like that they're trying to fill a market niche.
I think I support everything about this game but the game itself
