This is a pretty cool video taken from the making of an upcoming issue of Popular Science. They took Forza and 2 real-life race car drivers and had them race using specific cars on a specific track in the game.

They then went to the real track with the real cars (Carrera GT and R32) - the same as they raced in the game ealier. There is a cool part of the video that shows the real video at the top vs. Forza at the bottom.

The coolest part is that their best times were within fractions of a second of eachother (real vs. video game)

impressive, the game is looking a lot better now. I especially like the detail of the track with the skidmarks... it really pulls it off.

the big challenge will be... the controller. does Xbox have a new wheel available that suits Forza's physics model?? cuz I know I will be pulling my hair out trying to play it with the controller....

 

I can't help but feel that this game is trying soo hard to be GT4, and it won't measure up.

 

we'll see. b-in law was over this weekend talkin shit about GT4 v. Forza and how GT4 is easy. meanwhile he was racing in a car that had 200bhp more than mine....and i still won.

Even though I'm looking forward to this game, I have to agree. The GT series has years of development behind it and GT4 is a really awesome game.

What I like about Forza is that it has damage modeling, online play and some great car licenses. When it comes out, we'll know how it stacks up, but my feeling is that GT4 will be a better game than Forza.

I do believe the Forza series will be a great long-term competitor in the market which is great news for all car nuts.

supposed to be May 3rd... interestingly, about the same time as Forza...

 

i want to see a comparison of GT4 to the real life like they did with Forza. or take Forza GT4 and enthusia and have professional race car drivers take the same cars with the same specs on the same track and see what they say.

i bet it can be done but i would like to see it done. and take drivers from all different trypes of racing if it is possible.

One more video I thought I'd share. This shows the NYC course. It is a replay video and it is from a February build so there is no sound, but I think it shows how nicely the graphics are coming along and I love the Telemetry information.

nice vid, I see some issues but I'm not gonna say anything until I play the game first-hand. the car sounds - especially of the V8's and greater - Ford GT sounded bad ass - impress me the most, compared with the lackadaisy sounds of similar engines in GT4...
