Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

Begs the question though, do any of the console platforms have supported HOTAS systems and titles that can take advantage of them? I honestly have no clue.
All you really need is support for three simultaneous axes, a dozen or two buttons, and the ability to assign them in the game. Doesn't seem like it should be a big deal to do given the current level of technology.

Did you guys ever play air force delta storm on the previous xbox?
I liked playing that game a lot. grahics were pretty good. controls were ok, it would have been awesome to have the stick and throttle with it.
here's a SS from it:

I really need to play the demo to get excited about this.
Graphically, the Ace Combat series has been stellar on all platforms (outside of the crappy bit map land scapes), but their missions and AI have been sub-par for years.
Let's hope #6 bucks the trend

screenshots in general look kick ass, BUT the city scapes piss me off. The textured city is shitty. especially since tehy did some buildings in 3d (textured cubes) and then didn't do others. honestly I don't mind the textured cube buildings since they don't needdetails on them, but come on.. don't do fucking textures on the GRIOUND for buildings. I would rather have a grass texture there than a fucking shitty roof shot of a building that isn't even modeled in 3d.
hopefully I won't be able to notice this when I actually play the game though.
their new mission setup sounds super sweet though.

Today, Namco Bandai Games announced that a playable demo of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation will be made available on Xbox Live starting this week.

As per my previous post, I hope #6 bucks the trend of recent AC

How are the graphics, particularly the landscapes?
Seems pretty slick, it sure is purdy anyway.
Perhaps people who have played ace combat before can tell me. When using a real flight yoke or joystick can you control all the axis of the plane. Playing with the controller it only really lets me go up down left and right, I don't think I have any control over the roll.

Left and right controls roll.
Shoulder buttons control rudder/yaw.
Up and down controls pitch.
AC5 was fun with a controller. Of course, a stick/throttle combo would make the experience much more enjoyable.

Ima be PISSED if they skip the ps3 with an ace combat game that has online. I love the series, and all I've wanted is to take my über flight skillz to online

That'll be 10x better than ace combat
Well, I tried the demo and I like it. The textures have improved, but could be much better. The planes are beautifully detailed and the action is very smooth.
Can't wait for the full version and some dog fighting action on Live!

I have to say I am a little disappointed. I will still buy the game, but I guess I was hoping for more of an evolution in the series. It feels like Ace Combat 5.5 to me.
The graphics and textures look good and the missiles seem a little smarter, but overall the feeling is been there, done that

Well also I guess it's based on the no longer available Saitek X45 flightstick, It's replacement goes for around 110 dollars though, so I would only feel sort of ripped off at that price. 100 for the stick and 60 for the game that is.
