Anyone else get it i just started and its pretty amazing. The character creation could have been better but the graphics are amazing.
yeah I played it for a bit over at my buddies house earlier today on his bro's HDTV at 1080i, and it definitely looks great. The character models faces could have been better, and the horses could use some more polygons. There was quite a bit of popup on foliage when riding the horse, but it does look really good.
the loading is usually pretty fast too, except for the occasional 5 minute load
awesome draw distance and 90% of the time the transition from low detail models to high detail is perfect.

Well.. lets start off with me saying that I have been playing these since the First Elder Scrolls game, Arena in 1994. So yes, I got my Collector's Edition last night
I'm VERY happy with the game. It runs GREAT on my PC on high detail settings.
My rig:
Athlon XP X2 4400+ (overclocked)
2 gigs of RAM
ATI x1600 XT
Oblivion is meant for dual core processors.. so it really moves. The loading times are almost non-existent for me.
Gameplay is amazing, its both an easy to use/learn game with some serious depth. Combat was never a strong suit of the previous games, instead plot and character development were. But now combat/magic and stealth are vastly improved.. I love it. Its great swinging a sword into a goblin and watch the physics knock him into a wall.
If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask

Well, I'm THE Listener in the Dark Brotherhood
Thats the highest rank..
I am in charge of recruiting/training new members and I get paid 200 gold coins a week for salary
I'm a level 10 "adventurer" since I always choose my skills. I've got my sneak skill at 90 already
Oh and I just bought my first house.. cost me 15,000 gold. No furniture or paintings yet, so its quite spartan.

Get Oblivion running up to speed

If you're experiencing unusually long load times while playing Oblivion (including loading of menus, dialogue, sounds, objects, levels, etc.), Bethesda has posted an explanation and simple solution.
Game data that is cached on the Xbox 360 HDD can become (on rare occasions) overly fragmented, resulting in exaggerated load times. To solve the problem, just reboot the console and immediately hold down the A-button (or any button) while the game is loading — release the button once the "Bethesda Software" logo appears. Doing so will dump the old hard drive cache, fixing the problem. It's important to note that this will not affect your saved game data.

Got it yesterday on my 360. I'm loving the game so far. I somewhat liked Morrowind, but the combat was terrible, but this is MUCH improved. Graphics look great as expected and there is just SO much to do. I've barely even scratched the surface even after playing 3+ hours. I definitely can't wait to play more.

I just wanted to bump this thread to say that Oblivion is one of the best experiences I've had with a video game in a LONG time. I'm totally addicted (too bad I actually have to work as I could see myself playing this all day) and the game really draws you inside it's universe.
If you have a 360 or a powerful gaming rig, definitely pick this up. Definite GOTY condender.

Ok, I cleared the guys and even went into that crazy area and had the portal closed down.. That was nuts.. Should I help the guys at the front of the gate now or should I tell them to wait? They asked for help but I didn't know if I was missing something.
Where is the cloud ruined temple?
The only tough part about the game is there's like a million different missions going on at once.. I think I owe like 3-4 people help..
