360, XO, PS3, PS4, PC: Alien - Isolation
http://alienisolation.com/
Alien: Isolation is an upcoming first-person survival horror stealth game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega, part of the Alien franchise.
The game is set in 2137, 15 years after the events of Alien. The game follows Amanda, who is investigating the disappearance of her mother Ellen Ripley. Amanda was transferred to the space station Sevastopol to find the flight recorder of Nostromo. However, an Alien has already infested the station.

Also, very interesting...the Alien runs off a real "AI", it learns what you do to avoid it and counters how you play, nothing is scripted which should add a huge twist and new experience each time you play.

As an awesome bonus...the first DLC (that comes with pre-orders) will have you returning to the Nostromo with the original cast members from the movie.

I'm looking forward to this game big time, it looks amazing.

I've been keeping an eye on this game...hopefully it is good.
To this date, I'd say one of the FREAKIEST games I've played was the AvP on PC from 1999. Playing that game on the Marine campaign was piss-your-pants esp. in the dark and with headphones turned on full.

^ Nice, WD. Post your impressions when you get it!
I'm going to wait a bit. I'm also very intrigued with "The Evil Within" and will wait for the reviews to come in for that and then pick one of the two.

Haha, man, those were the times...I wish I could erase the "not scared" portion of me. I want the game to be as scary as it was for the folks in the theater in 79'.
The fact is what you can't see that scares the bejeezus outta you...they used the same formula in the 1999 game for the Marine campaign. And do you have the same motion detector that Hudson had in the movie? I had that in the PC game and man, it often drove me batsh*t crazy when it started to beep when it picked up something.

Well, reporting back, alive...
Alive in game too, I didn't make it far enough to die
All I'll say is this is a grownup's game...it's tense, unforgiving and very stressful.
I played for an hour and a half last night and only saw Mr. Alien 3 times, none of which he had the option of killing me because of cutscenes, but I was still in constant fear because I didn't know when they would release him to come after me.
During my play through I was also stuck in areas for 10+ minutes. Objectives are short and direct and offer little to no hints of where to go or what to do. That also gets nerve wracking because in the future, I'm sure it will be the same way and the Alien will have free reign.
So...am I afraid of the Alien in the movie? No. Why? Because he's on rails and I know it's coming.
Am I afraid of the Alien in this game? Yes. Why? Because I am in control, I don't know what's going to happen and he is smarter than me. So really...I am not in control.

If you're a fan of the original Alien movie, I say this. No coin flip needed.
And thanks, Yum.
I haven't yet but there were a few jump scares that got me last night...the ship rattles and lights go out, a TV blew out right above my head, scared me and my gf haha.

Seeing the trailers and videos already, it does bring back memories of the 1999 PC game I had played many times through. So, this is why I'm not in a rush to get it. As well, FP games on consoles generally make me dizzy and sick...which is why I'm also holding off on getting it for the moment.
Just do. Not sure why...this is why I never played any of the CoD games on the PS3.
Actually, all my games on the PS3 and PS2 are non-FPS-type games. I did have the launch-title, "Resistance" on the PS3 but traded it in after I got too dizzy playing it.

I played so much FPS on the PCs that I think I got so set on the keyboard-mouse layout/setup for movement, shooting, and jumping that I just never got used to it on consoles.

Okay well...this game is scary as shit, man.
They finally dropped the Alien in my playing area and he's insane.
To start off, they drop him right in front of you, very slowly, so you have a few seconds to hide, and then he starts his search for you.
All I can say is he moves quickly, and he's persistent. I stayed under a bed for a while until I knew he took off in the vents. Then as soon as I moved, HE CAME BACK and I went into panic mode for a hiding spot.
I was killed twice last night, both times, he pulled me from my hiding spot...little did I know that if you're too scared to move, he will eventually look in the hiding spots and your only chance of avoiding him grabbing you is pulling back and holding your breath, but that's not guaranteed.
Your best chance is to keep moving and hiding when he's around. Absolutely no sprinting and try not to knock things over, he'll come to investigate.
I was on edge the entire time I was playing last night, even had to pause it a few times.

Just a few.
Shortly after that scene, I went down the hallway to have a gas line blow up in my face and the Alien come running through the vents to investigate.

myself playing the 1999 PC FPS game. Actually, I recall the game came with a free voucher to get yourself a new pair of underpants.
