It was originally going to be XBONE only. But then it was announced for PC, and any reason I had to get an XBONE disppeared

It looks amazing too. From what I hear, they balanced Titan warfare so that you're not just some OP death-mech when you're in one. Gotta play it smart too.

was in the PC beta.

I'm on the fence about it, i was really excited for it but maybe it's because i'm getting old, the games are just sensory overload for me.

It's COD, Mirrors Edge, and Hawken all in one. Games at least with randoms seem to be really frantic. I wasnt too much fan of COD's already fast paced twitch gameplay. I'm a BF3 type gamer. Everyone in Titanfall is sprinting around, jumping and shooting each other, calling down titans, jumping in them or on them and blasting away. There's no strategy.

But of course it was only a taste of part of the game. I'm not going to run out and pre-order it. i'll wait.

This is the focal point now with most AAA titles. Don't go out and pre-order just based on hype. I can wait a week or two, nowadays with digital distribution there's actually no wait, ever.

Unless the pre-order bonus is that good...

I am more of a COD-type of gamer so that's fine. Just pick up and play. I'll play the objective better than most too, but I prefer TDM so that's right up my alley.

Doubt it. It was initially believed to be an XBONE exclusive, then they announced it for PC too. I can't see them announcing it for PS4 as well so close to the launch date.

Got a new rig so it's all good

Nope - its Xbox exclusive for now - Microsoft made sure of that by paying the developers $100 million for the rights. They said there is a possibility that a sequel might be released on PS4

I played the beta for this on PC. Was A LOT of fun. My experience with Hawken helped me destroy in the Titan. The movement was really smooth, better than I was expecting. Don't underestimate the effectiveness of those anti-titan weapons.

I went ahead an preordered on PC.

Only thing I have complaints about is the SMART pistol. It's a bit annoying as the user doesn't have to aim.

looks like people on that slickdeals thread were getting codes successfully minus the very last few before it went OOS.

I'll just wait to see if it comes back in stock.

snagged it on ebay just now for $40.

My friend got a key from yuplay so it's legit if you want to wait for it.

I just need to get started on that 50GB DL.

It's really fun. I wouldn't say it's an amazing game, but it feels like sorta like CoD. Fast paced, map design so far is actually decent from the hour or two I've played. I know there's a learning curve, but its too easy for people to take my Titan down, but it isn't easy the other way around

Are there any Titan-less game modes though? I wonder if the game would still stand on its own without that aspect of gameplay. Just curious, as I was okay with BF TDM... but CoD was the gold standard for mindless run and gunning.

Another thing that's hilarious is watching your teammates trying to make it to extraction.

I was in tears after watching one guy. He found a great hiding spot, and nobody came close to finding him. He made a run for it, but right as within leaping distance of extraction, the shuttle blew up and he fell all the way to the ground. Just stared at the ground in resignation before getting gibbed by a 40mm grenade

another guy ran nearly halfway across the map unscathed and went unnoticed by the three titans camping the extraction zone. He got within 20m of the shuttle when one of the titans strafed and ran him over. He was so close. I don't think the titan pilot even noticed the kill.

You're equipped with a jump jet pack, which lets you do double jumps and it also activates when you wallrun, which makes you travel a lot faster. I'm definitely hooked. It really plays a lot like COD - tight, responsive twitch controls. And I swore off of COD a few years ago - last one I got was MW2. Piloting a Titan is very similar to playing on foot, minus the jumping.

You could try Warframe out, it's a shooter with a lot of parkour moves. I think you have to buy it for the PS4 but it's free to play on PC.

So, is this a multiplayer only game?

I checked gamespot.com, and it seems like it is. But I'm not 100% sure.

i would say the game is worth getting at anything under $60 for that very reason. $40 or under is reasonable, imo. Great game otherwise.

Been playing the game for an hour or so every night as a way to relax. It's just fun run and gunning. There is evidence of the game being rushed all over. No aimbot prevention(PC problem), some super low res textures, glitches, rather horrible optimization, rather low amount of content, etc etc.

Despite this I'm still having a ton of fun and I don't regret my purchase. The core gameplay is solid enough to make it worth while. I wouldn't say buy at $60, but it's definitely worth $40 if you are into CODish games.

One of the worst things is getting killed by an NPC. I usually watch the killcam for that one... they're just sitting there, shooting in bursts. Usually happens when I get softened up by a pilot and barely get away.

Even worse, when my situational awareness fails me and I get meleed to death by a grunt

My biggest gripe with the game so far though is the jump kick. It should not be a one-hit kill from the front. They could either change it to not have the auto-aim assist, or two-shot kill from anywhere but behind, but as is its just stupid.

There is speculated lore that pilots are cybernetically enhanced supersoldiers, which is pilots can survive 200 ft drops, vault obstacles so quickly and easily, have so much stamina, gun accuracy, etc. But it still doesn't explain why a foot is situationally better than a gun.
