was 360 a waste??

i bought 360 a few months ago cause i needed a new game system and didnt wanna wait for PS3.... there are like 10 games out. the guy at the game store tells me microsoft is waitin till ps3 comes out to release more games to keep bringin money in. and the fact that madden 06 sucked ass is a disappointment. i love football games but ive played madden for 360 like 3 times.... 07 better be a hell of a lot better. is it true they are holdin out on releasin games???

Please buy Fight Night.

Oh and Oblivion could keep you busy for countless hours awaiting the rediculous amount of awesome games coming out in the next year or so.

Trust me, 360 is well worth it. Those are really the only two games I play lately, but there a lot of great looking games on the way.

Yep, fight night is great. So are Battlefield 2, Table tennis, topspin. Project Gotham racing is pretty good too. The Outfit is fun, and Call of Duty isn't bad.

I'm not too impressed with a lot of the other games either, but its because they were all rushed. Madden sucked, the NBA games sucked, Ghost Recon is pretty lousy, Hitman is disappointing. The games that will be coming out soon will be a lot better.

I'm pretty sure they are holding out on "Gears of War" to go up against the PS3 launch...

...but I have no regrets at all... I'll admit... I was disappointed with a couple games... but I LOVED Ghost Recon Advance Warfare, Call Of Duty... and still loving Battlefield 2...

This is the normal cycle of game releases. Almost all game companies hold off on their big releases until the fall. The summer is always the slowest time for game releases because more people spend time inside.

There are many great games for the 360 available right now though. The big guns come out in the fall, but that's the way it always is.

Exactly. I wouldn't call it a waste. The system is still relatively new. Look at when the PS2 was released. I remember preordering it and picking it up on day 1. The system came out in the fall. The first decent game I got for it was Gran Turismo 3 which i think came out the next year. Now the PS2 has a huge inventory of games. Just be patient. The PS3 will probably be the same way. When its released this fall, it will have a few good games. Then you will have almost a year long lull until many of its big name games are released.

I play my 360 almost everyday... Burnout Revenge and PGR3 keep me really busy. DOA 4 is good. Check out the Xbox Live arcade, there are some good games there as well, bankshot billards, UNO, etc etc. I just downloaded some demos and see some games I might like, just need the $$$.

You wasted your money on 360, should have waited for PS3.

I don't even own a 360 right now because of the fact that there aren't many REALLY good games out for it yet. I mean it's less than a year into it's life, so personally I would expect more than the 20 or so average games it has out right now, and the 4 or 5 pretty good ones.

I'm going to wait till the game count/quality goes up, then I'm buying one.

There are a lot of good games coming out in the next four months: Gears of War, NHL '07, Madden 07, Rainbow Six Las Vegas, Forza 2 just to name a few. It's probably, as some have said, to coincide with the PS3 media blitz that's sure to come when it's finally released.

Xbox 360 is at its best when you play on Xbox LIVE IMHO. Playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter with four or five of your friends is a blast.

Yeah the main reason I haven't gotten a 360 yet was becase there arent any games I want to play on it. I'm perfectly happy with my regular XBOX right now. Hopefully by the time Halo 3 comes out there will be more games for it.

I rented The Outfit and wasnt really feeling it. Didnt really like the controls. I did like the damage on command thing. THat was pretty cool.
The thing that was really annoying was the lack of involvement from your "backup". They just stood there most of the time. And the graphics did nothing for me. It looked more along the lines of a XBOX game, not a 360 game. But then again it was an early game.

I rented Moto GP 2006. Its fun, but the learning curve is huge. I keep wanting to ride the bike like I would drive a car in a racing game. All that gets me is road rash.

buying the 360 is like buying the Acura CL TypeS. I was one of the first to jump on it and then traded it up for a 6speed but after that, it was discontiued. Not that the X360 will be discontinued...my point is why buy something just because it's out in the market when you know that there are potentially better competing products coming out real soon.

The next time I'm buying anything, I want to make sure I'm getting the best products with SUPPORT. fuck being a loyal fan of bullshit.

Hey since you're in WA, you should go to microsoft's headquarters and complain to them and Bill Gates for ripping us off. Acurazine members don't take BS from microsoft when Sony is gonna blow the doors off 360

Yeah the outfit is more of a stupid fun game. A lot more of an arcade style game than most of the other military type games. I like it just to mess around.

I bought Moto GP and sold it an hour later. Too technical for me personally...and the graphics were shitty.

I'm waiting on Madden now.

but see that's the point. without an HD hookup, it does look better, but you are "wasting" the power of the 360 on a regular tv. If you want to get the whole thing, you need to spend more money on an HDTV. Kinda sucks.

Technology progresses, its not a fault of the 360 that its designed for HDTV.

I never said it was. I'm just saying that you could acheive equivalent, or near equivalent graphics on an SDTV for a considerably lower price tag on the system and games. Microsoft mandates that all games are HD compatible. This causes a higher price tag in the end.

honestly I wish I coud afford a good HDTV to make full use of the 360, but everytime I play I notice thigns that WOULD look better with an hdtv. As an example the text in Dead rising when you get a call from "otis" is nearly unreadable on an sdtv.

there's no doubt it's an awesomely powerful system, just a shame you have to dish out so much money to make full use of it.

Wii is a waste of money. Basically a Gamecube with a tad more power and a gimmicky controller...

Nintendo will do OK with this system b/c their fans will jump on it, however, overall it's not a true next-gen system and their fans should actually be pissed that they have to spend $200 everytime Nintendo comes out with a new gimmick.

oh right, and better graphics can't be considered a gimmick? It's not even being marketed as a "next-gen" system. They are trying to get people who don't normally play game systems with it.

If it's fun to play I don't see what the big deal is. At least peopl;e won't have to pay out the ass to make it worth it like the 360 and ps3.
