360, PS3, PC: Bionic Commando

It's coming back!
From IGN...
Classic NES shooter getting updated for next-gen consoles and PC
After almost two decades in the doldrums, Capcom has revealed that NES shooter Bionic Commando is set to make its return on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. What's more it's already in development at Swedish developer GRIN, with a American producer and Japanese creative advisor helming the project.
This updated version takes its inspiration from the 1988 side-scrolling original and, once again, features a lead character who's a combination of man and machine. Furthermore, the bionic 'hook' from the original - which lets you swing from building to building - is making its return, complete with a fancy next-gen makeover that enables you to traverse the skyscrapers, canyons and sheer rock faces.
Ah yes, it's probably best to explain the reason behind all this swinging about. You see, you play as a character called Nathan Spencer - voiced by Faith No More singer and The Darkness favourite Mike Patton - who must take down a gang of terrorists that have laid waste to the futuristic Ascension City. Luckily, armed with all your bionic gadgetry, this should all prove a doddle.
In fact, Spencer is able to target and take out enemies while hanging upside down, climbing a building or even in mid-swing. At close quarters, the bionic arm packs a mean punch, while from a distance, objects such as boulders and cars can be grabbed and launched at enemies.

To tie in to the impending release of Bionic Commando, Capcom made a revamped version of the original 2D scroller for release on the PS3's PlayStation Store and also on the XBox 360's Live marketplace. As you will see from the video below, much has changed.

That's what I'm talking about! Forget the new 3D game, I'm more excited about the 2D Rearmed. You can even use the arm to pick up the barrels now.
I guess they put that in because you can do that in the 3D game.

Sorry for the bump. I just downloaded over the weekend and boy is this game addicting. The remixed music, new graphics, challenges, etc are great improvements. Def worth the $9.99 (or free if shared).

on the 2D platformer idea...but, I doubt it. Knowing how the trends are, they'll make this into a FPS.
