I played the multiplayer for while yesterday and couldn't get into it. Not sure why. Perhaps I'm not used to the maps or perhaps it's the ridiculously long respawn times. I think I'll run through the campaign first and give it another go.

I played maybe 8-9 matches online and love it. I'm still getting used to the scale of the maps (huge, indeed) and the guns but I had no problems with up close kills

I like how they reward you for damaging a vehicle with an RPG. Even more rewarding when you get a triple kill by blowing up a Bradley! Oh, and does anyone know if the grenade launcher is useful for vehicles? I don't know if I'm being a big pussy by running away from them or if I'm being smart.

The multiplayer is fun. I like the element of vehicles, though I haven't gotten into one yet. One time I tried to get there and a guy was hiding in the bushes waiting for people to get close to it, so he got me, and another time it was a blood bath, 3 teams going for it and I didn't make it

Another thing I'm wondering about is sniping. I've only sniped in campaign, and in the beta videos they show the bullet drop. Is it like that in the regular game too? Just need practice then I guess.

One thing I won't miss is those wimpy COD pistol sounds. They all sound like BB guns, even when unsilenced (except for the big caliber pistols)

If you play PC version feel free to practice in our Crazy Azz uFear servers. They all set up as hardcore i.e. no kill cam, mini map, etc.., but only takes 1-2 shots to kill an enemy. As far as bullet drop, all weapons in BC2 have it. If you use M24 with mil-dot scope, just use first dot down for long shots, on hardcore servers it equates to one shot - one kill.

You being in california though, my ping may be too high for your server. I think my university is doing packet shaping or something and it's destroying my connections for online games. I'm lucky to play with a ping under 120.

And sniping with the GOL and 12x scope from super far away is AWESOME!!! So satisfying when you get those marksman headshots. My highest marksman headshot bonus so far is +184 (the farther you are and get a headshot, the more points you get).

Im so glad to hear you like it, Costco and Salami. Because, I know a sizable # of people who didn't like it. The gameplay is not everyone's cup of tea, for sure. Hell, I'm kind of surprised I like it, because it does play much slower than COD.

Definitely a good learning curve figuring out what all damage you can do to what with what. I mean you see a Bradley coming at you you're not sure if youre rocket is gonna make a dent. But I seen stuff like that. You know what else is really fun is the stationary weapons - there is one that is a bonafide tank-killer, look for it.

Think I'll fire it up while I have a few brews before going out later.

what Ive seen is that the bullet drop is not as big a factor as you would think. Just aim a tad above where you want to hit and its good. In the beginning I was doing it as if I were lobbing a bullet over and it's not like that

I'm not doing so well with mid-range though. Also, how does health work? Doing it auto regenerate after you "sigh" like in COD? I hear this weird inhaling/suction noise when the redness goes away, but when I get killed I see that the guy who killed me has lower health....

I also don't understand those ammo drops and medic drops.... like I said above, doesn't health auto regenerate? Also, what is SPEC 1, 2 and 3? Are those like perks that are passive, and not things I can throw down?

I was doing well in the deathmatches, now that I'm trying Rush/Conquest I'm getting my ass whooped, and my team keeps losing

Health doesn't regenerate. If you choose the medic class you'll see a health bar across everyone's head when you run around. The blood marks just go away on screen, unless you're really injured, then it stays red/blurred.

and the specs are like perks. you unlock them later on

There are stands with a computer on one side of the map, and you can control the uav from there. i've used the laser guided missile but if you use the vehicle alt fire option for spec 3, you can fire a machine gun with it

flashing means someone's taking it, and green circles means you're being ordered to take or defend it. if you do that while it's flashing, you get points for following orders

ah, thanks a lot Tommy. Its also nice when someone uses that defibrillator on you when you're near a base, but I kept getting bumrushed by these level 20-something guys on the other team

I remember most of this stuff in BF2 (but for PC), its all coming back now.

I love those little UAV's, I can actually fly them well

Get one and hover behind the enemy base and use the laser guided bomb to take out camping snipers. Or if you are playing with someone else, have them load it up with C4's and then fly it over to the enemy base.

wow that sounds like a great idea! Some of my friends got BC2 (most are MW2 loyalists though) but they're all playing FF13 maybe I'll stick some on it since I usually play recon, then I'll ditch the UAV and trigger it afterwords

Speaking of which, how the hell do you shoot those things down? I see people with the AT4, does that track helicopters and UAVs? I got utterly pwned by a Cobra when I got into a tank and no one would be my AA gunner

It's hard to shoot them down with a rocket since they are small, hover high, and are very maneuverable. Unless someone has a tracking beacon on it, I wouldn't try.

Best bet would be a mounted MG or even a few well placed sniper rounds, that seems to be enough.

2 sniper shots will take it out. they're really weak. i usually attack then hide immediately with it

Gotta just get used to his game then. I tried leading, factoring for bullet drop, hardscoping and waiting for the heli to pass the crosshairs, etc. I don't think I hit it once. I didn't see any hit markers, at least.

I can barely run the game cause my video card is too old now , so things are choppy. It's hard to play at times cause things freeze up or go mad choppy and I just die, but the game seems pretty good from what I can tell.

I have new parts on the way , so I should be able to run the game on full soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!! Then the ass kicking can commence.

make sure you run as an administrator and add +fullproc to the exe's command line to get it to use all cores if you have dual or quad core processor

Also I think you can use defibrillator to kill enemies

yeah. well did you try both the squad DM and the conquest/rush? there are BIG ASS variants in the conquest/rush. I do wish they had more maps for squad DM.

Sniped my first helo pilot in mid-air last night

I won't say this is better than MW2, but I do have more fun with the bigger maps and destructible environments. It's like comparing BWM and Audi, more of a personal preference.

And yeah... I'm not sure if this is better than MW2. The gameplay is good. But I like MW2's ranking and weapons unlock system better. Also, I miss kill streaks.

wanna relieve some stress? Get a medic class and join a hardcore game, then keep teamkilling and reviving people over and over. You get 65 points each time if they're in your squad (-15 tk, +80 squad revive)

yeah, I would agree with Silver, there's really no point comparing this to MW2, both very different play games.

There is no notification when someone joins your squad so I was just playing and looking for a squad member to spwan on when I saw your name. When the game was over I went to get my headphones and you were gone.



Thats one thing I don't miss so much. MW2 is so focused on killstreaks that there is hardly any teamwork and it's all about camping long enough to get the next kill streak. MW2 did a lot of things right, but I think there is just to much emphasis on that
