You nailed it. Even if you're not getting hit from across the map, the suppression effect is just too great to overcome. It actually happened to me all night long last night. I joined a server probably around 11 where the other team was comprised of players with a lot of experience. Like 3/4 the team was level 42+. And probably 3/4 of them were using it. I could do nothing, no matter where I was or the distance I was at.

So does anyone here play this on PS3?? No one? Really?

Played for a bit this morning, map was Tehran Highway, and heard a whirring sound from behind me so I turned around...freaking MAV was heading straight at my head. Then after I spawned the same guy tried to ram me with the MAV again! lol good thing I died from the LAV.

DICE is rolling out nearly *300* fixes to this game. Looks like the MAV trick won't work anymore.

OMG! I'm loving some of these!

• Bolt action sniper rounds now have a chance to kill at close range if the player is hit in the upper chest.
• Reduced the recoil of the SKS rifle and increased its maximum damage at close range.
• The Knife now only takes two swipes to kill when attacking from a position where a takedown is not possible.
• Mines, Claymores, C4 and other deployable items will now only appear on the minimap when spotted by a teammate.

FAMAS:

The FAMAS combines an extreme rate of fire with extreme recoil making it very difficult to use at anything other than close quarters combat. Due to update restrictions, the FAMAS had different stats on all 3 platforms. The FAMAS is now uniform on all platforms and now has the correct 25 round magazine.

SUPPRESSOR:

• The Suppressor no longer reduces the maximum damage of a weapon when equipped. Instead the Suppressor reduces the minimum and maximum range of the weapon, making it ideal for CQB and Stealth. This change will make the Suppressor slightly more effective at long range, where the bullet drop and speed makes shots difficult already, and reduces the power of the suppressor at mid range slightly.
• The Suppressor’s recoil bonus remains unchanged at a global 10% decrease. This is less than the Flash Suppressor’s bonus for all weapons.
• The Hip Accuracy penalty of the Suppressor has been changed from a global percentage to a per weapon value. Generally this penalty is higher now, but not for all weapons. Specifically, the belt LMGs and bolt Snipers do not have any additional hip fire penalty, as their penalty is already at the maximum possible value.
• Reduced the Aimed Accuracy bonus of the Suppressor from 50% to 25%. A Suppressor and Foregrip combo will have similar accuracy to a weapon without any Accessories, at the penalty of worse Hip Fire Accuracy and Range and with the benefit of much improved Stealth and reduced Recoil.

MAV:

• The MAV will now be destroyed when running into a soldier or vehicle at high speed. It is still possible to strategically sacrifice your MAV on a soldier; it will be destroyed in the process.
• The MAV now properly shows up in the Kill Feed. Previously it simply displayed “KILLED.”
• The MAV can no longer be used as an elevator.

TEAM DEATHMATCH:

• Fixed a bug where players would spawn close to the enemy team at the start of the round.
• Tehran Highway playable area has been doubled and is now the same as the Squad Deathmatch set up. Spawn points have been tweaked, and an extra spawn zone has been added north of the footbridge.

I really would like extended mags on the AS VAL though, that gun was beast. But barely enough in the mag to kill two guys, especially if they were running. SKS was already beast-mode at mid-long range. headshot machine.

What you guys think of the new server rental option? I bought 7 days .ive been using it with a couple buddys to try and work on my helicopter and jets skills.have a hard time driving them.one thing I'm not happy about with the new update/patch is the option now to buy any unlock you want? Doesent that defeat the whole purpose of why we play the game ?

Yup. I don't really think it messes up the game. Honestly, the people who are paying to unlock that stuff are probably people who haven't played much. It would normally follow that they wouldn't really be great at the game even with the unlocks.

On the other hand, I could see it being very useful for people who just bought the game. Everyone else already had most of the unlocks, and yet you don't have any. That puts you at a disadvantage when it comes to jets and such, especially since you are new at the game. This would help even the playing field a little bit.

I wouldn't buy them, as part of the fun for me is working to unlock stuff. If that isn't very fun for you though, I could see why you'd want to purchase an unlock.

Getting unlocks for the jets, I'd rather earn them. But accessories for guns... Shoot it's a PITA having to rack up X amount of kills for an accessory I want.

It's like the one accessory I want could be the last one to unlock on the tree.

I'm surprised that you guys are surprised. We're talking about EA here, Consumerist's winner of the Worst Company in America tournament. Other semi-finalists being Walmart, AT&T and BofA. Previous winners (exempt from winning again) being BP, AIG, Halliburton and Phillip Morris.

I think they're not that bad, but in the gaming world they do cash-grabbing tactics like this all the time. Because gamers (myself included) will buy that crap, crap that normally comes included with a $60 game but they decide to hold it back, spit shine it, wrap it in a fancy package and sell it later for another $10-15+

It's called DLC and it's not going anywhere. Map packs, customizable gear, even now with unlocks.... we're all sheep and the only reason why they do it is because we'll buy it.

Multiplayer DLC usually isn't too bad of a deal though. You can pay $10 for a movie and be done in a couple hours, or the same for tens or hundreds of hours of gaming.

Though, I still hate it.

I guess the buying unlocks doesn't bother me as much as I didn't have that option and had to earn it. If the option had been there for me I wouldn't have taken it but at least I wouldn't have felt like I was being kicked in the nuts.

So I haven't been playing at all lately because I can't redownload the KArkland pack after this last update. My download will start and then freeze 10% into it... Anyone have any idea?

My internet is fine, the PS3s internet is fine, it's wired, has a static IP, etc etc. No firewall issues etc.

I've tried like a dozen times now... I WANT MY FAMAS BACK DAMMIT! LOL

Three in a row? Yes!

So get this, I tried five times last night to download the Karkland pack. I just couldn't go without my famas anymore. Every single time it would freeze the whole console and require a hard reboot.

So I take the PS3 off the bottom shelf, vacuum everything, dust can it, and put it back on the middle shelf standing up on it's side. And voila, downloads no problem.

So dust/heat takes a much bigger role on the PS3 then I'd like to think it does. Lol

I actually want to pick it back up to play around a bit but my computer has been getting hotter and hotter lately. It's approaching Summer and we aren't using the AC much in order to save money. On top of that my computer is a bit dusty.

I'm gonna hold off playing PC games too much until I clean everything and buy a new fan or two. Poor Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I put in about 30 hours and just up and quit. Such a great game too!
