It's still a lot better than the russian chopper in bad company 2. The american one was clear as day but in the russian one they made everything pink and blown out, and you couldn't see shit

just started Karkand today, was playing strike at Karkand earlier.... had some epic battles over D (suburb). I've always liked city maps and it was no exception.
for a change of pace though, if you have it then a silencer + acog or holo sight on the SV98 is good fun. Sure it would work similarly with any of the other bolt actions or even the semi-autos too.

I've got spurs...
I played the maps a bit more yesterday and they aren't as bad as I originally thought. I've decided to not fly anything on Gulf of Oman though, it's just too tiny.
I unlocked the Famas last night. Seems like a great gun so far. Horrible iron sights though.

^wow, you're right. I was curious so I went on youtube and some guy uploaded a video of him using the FAMAS. He commented, "the iron sights gave me aids" 
Even worse than the AN-94 irons
I should probably mention since I forgot in my half-drunk stupor last night, the server I was on was infantry only so people were easy pickings (SV98 + silencer and acog)

can you still level up on non official EA servers?
i really want to level up my jets but i hate joining a map thats supposed to have jets but its a version w/o it. and then the next map is the metro map..

It's just alright tbh. It's the most powerful sidearm in the game but it's got tons of recoil and the ROF is very slow. It's definitely usable because it only takes two shots to kill, but you better not miss or you're dead 
. The scoped .44 would be a good companion to a shotgun I'd think.
I just got the Rex today (.357 mag) and I really like it a lot, the ROF is about the same as the 1911 but it kills in three shots instead of four. The reload is quite quick too and it seems to be really accurate.

Just gonna go ahead and say I hate Assault Conquest. One team gets all the vehicles and the other starts off with all the flags. Gets frustrating regardless of which team you are on.
On the attacking team, you cannot drive anywhere as the defending team already has all their mines spread EVERYWHERE before for you reach the flag. On the defending team, it's annoying that you pretty much have to play anti-armor.
Also, there is no default spawn. If you have a bad team and lose all your flags, you are going to be punished by being forced to stare at the deploy screen. If by some magic, your team captures a flag, you will essentially just spawn into bullets.
Okay, enough ranting.
I do have to say I've gotten to like these new maps a lot more. The denser environments force a whole new strategy. Also, I got an ACOG for my Famas and it is a much more functional gun.

In gulf of Oman I sniped someone from the US spawn point from the top of the crane, but I was using the iron sights

No If your team loses all their flags you're supposed to be only able to respawn with your squad...AFAIK

Anyone manage to kill someone with a skid loader yet? I was *this* close to getting a road kill but the guy randomly turned around at the last second. I proceeded to chase him around for about three minutes. He would run then turn around and shoot at me, I would swerve like crazy to avoid his shots and keep coming. Eventually I was over powered when his teammate spawned on him to help. It was actually really funny.

I'm kind of tempted to install BF2 onto my PC.
Also one thing I miss is the commander. Iirc it was kind of like playing Starcraft or something.

That's the point of conquest assault, you can cap out a team.

If you load landlines onto the skid loader I guarantee you'll get the kill...

I know you all hate TDM but I use to level guns for the attachments... and an open map like wake island was perfect for the SKS (use it like a battle rifle, with ironsights). Eventually I got the silencer and the holo sight for it.... 
T-UGS distracting the crap out of the other team and letting me know when they are around doesn't hurt either.

Essentially they tried to get more people to purchase the game by stating that they would include a free copy of BF1943 in every PS3 copy. They later announced rather quietly that they will not actually be giving you guys a free copy of BF1943. Finally, after enough people complained and some legal action was pursued, they agreed to release the game as originally stated.

triple post, but holy crap the MAV is cheap. I just flew it around all game in TDM and out of 17 people on the opposing team, only two broke even or had a positive K/D ratio, and barely at that. Also keep in mind revive = no death
It seems like it auto-spots people. I can't possibly be that accurate by spamming Q (spot)
It is hard to kill people with though. Seems like you have to go full speed, and best targets are people just standing there or running in a perfectly straight line. But holy crap is it funny when you kill them.
