360: Forza 3

I ended up buying an Elite 360 and pre-ordered FM3 Collector's Edition. I REALLY wanted to get a PS3 and wait for GT5 but I just can't wait forever. I still think the BEST racing simulation game ever made was GT4. But for now, I'll wait with FM2 driving a CGT down the 'ring with TC off.

Congrats on your purchase. I really don't think FM3 will disappoint you whatsoever.

Been playing the game for the last few days and drove over 500 miles. This game is quite addicting. I've only completed about 6% so far and I've probably raced in 40 races and bought 20 cars up to this point. The new calendar mode keeps it much more interesting.

Is there anything so far that you aren't impressed with? What's your favorite car so far?

I have the game on pre-order and not to go too far off topic but getting on soap box regarding piracy.
If you enjoy playing a well engineered game, why the hell steal it. Turn 10 didn't spend years developing a great game as a charity. People will spend $100-300 on a strut brace that does virtually nothing in a heart beat (not bashing them because I have one) but act like it is a pain to pay $50 for something that they get hours of enjoyment out of. I suppose downloading a game to play it early with intentions of buying a legal copy down the road is understandable, but is it really worth selling your soul for a couple bucks?

^I understand what you are saying and why as well. I can't say too much about this subject because I don't download games and play them.
But then again I have every episode of Top Gear, Nip/Tuck, and Entourage in HD downloaded on my computer
I love those shows, but I would never pay for them. I've been waiting for FM3 ever since I got FM2. Another week won't kill me since I've been waiting 2 years already.

I honestly don't even remember what was there in Forza 2 but I haven't connected to xbox live until I get the actual game. I'm not a big visual customization guy, but you can pretty much custimize the car any way you want. you can add decals and vinyls to almost any bodypart, but I haven't really looked into it yet...

I've actually been too busy racing to be un-impressed with something. I have 31 cars so far (including a Lambo Reventon, Ferrari California and suped up a GT2 P-car) but my favorite car has to be the modified Audi R8 V10.

Are you going to pre-order the special edition so you get your hands on more cars? And downloading it to prevent wasting your money is an awesome idea. I should have done that for NFS Undercover; what a waste of money that was.

^I have given up on all NFS games. If anything it's more entertainment adding crazy stuff to exotic cars. Apart from that, FM and GT are where it's at when it comes to true racing in terms of car physics and physics.

^I agree 100%. I used to swear by NFS games. I started with NFS III Hot Pursuit and had every single one until I just got rid of Undercover. Hot Pursuit was the best they made imo.

I used to love the NFS hot pursuit games and can remember the 1st time I played a demo of GT2 at Best Buy and fell in love with the racing sim. I thought GT4 was it but Forza 3 blows it out of the water. The downloadable demo function of the 360 is awesome and I am so glad I have one with a HDD. 1 more week...

I actually got the NFS Shift game too a day before Forza, but I probably played it for 15 min and haven't touched it since (and won't touch it again.)

I didn't like that one either. Take it to Gamestop and put it towards the purchase of FM3 since you aren't going to play it anymore. That's what I did with 3 of my games.

This thread distracts me from my homework so badly.
And I'll be more than willing to purchase an AZ NSX

What about making a staggered wheel set-up on a FWD car?

^Hm I haven't really thought about it. I think the Focus RS would be an awesome, but that may not be considered a "lower class" vehicle because of the stock performance it already has.

You're right about the narrator - sounds like a man w/out a plan. But, I love to see all the modding capabilities! Can't wait! I hope you can change the music in the modding mode though. It sounds like my wife's yoga music. It kinda makes me horny, kinda makes me sleepy, always makes me feel conflicted.

I preordered mine a while back! I'm so pumped
And yea I do too. Check your local Craigslist. There are a bunch on the Raleigh/Durham one local to me. They are going for pretty cheap.
Yea I noticed. Sadly most of the people that already have the game are terrible drivers

I'll give it a 2nd chance and play again tonight.
But I wasn't too fond of the demo
didn't really feel any sense of speed and handling of the car.
And since people made a big deal about how forza had car damage and GT doesn't, I thought the car damage would be more realistic than it was.
And I hope you can customize the button layout, instead picking like preset button layouts.
