360: Forza 3
#201
I've never liked Nascar, but my girlfriend's family really into it, so I got stuck watching it. I'm starting to like it more, but I would rather watch football or something else.
Don't get me wrong, if in real life I got a ride in one of those things, I would have a blast. But when it comes to driving in Forza, it's not a car that I would be like "YESSSSSSSSS I FINALLY GOT IT!" type of thing. It would just be like "oh yay" like I would do when I got that R4 Volvo S60 in FM2

Then there's Gran Turismo which is the ultimate racing simulation series. I don't quite know if I want to shell out for both.
Soon after Forza's release, I'll be busy with CODMW2.

^I don't blame you. Since I only have a 360, I won't have the dilemma of picking between two games of the same genre.
When I had my PS2, I absolutely loved GT, but since I got rid of that for my 360, it's Forza forever for me

I have both a 360 and PS3. To be honest, I think Forza is better, but then again I think any game on the 360 is going to be better because the online experience is 1000x better than the PlayStation Online Service. I don't like waiting 30 minutes to update my system or games.
#208
^Damn is the PS Online really that crummy? I didn't have my PS2 hooked up online so I never experienced it.
I think the two games (FM and GT) are always going to be rivals. People with a PS are always going to favor GT and people with an Xbox are going to favor Forza. The real dilemma would be having both consoles and trying to pick which one to get. I would get both to compare the two

I think F1 cars would be an awesome addition in Forza. The R1 Class cars are awesome, but they are still leaving something out, that being the F1 cars. I'm sure eventually they will be introduced into the game. The only reason I can think of why they are leaving them out is that putting F1 cars in FM would attract people more towards FM than an actual F1-based racing game. Just an idea though.
And I can't exactly remember how to get to the drifting part of the demo. If I was home I could check for you, but I'm down in Florida on my Fall Break. I'll be back on Monday and check for you if nobody has helped you out yet

The tracks are kinda bitter sweet for me. I think there are really only 10 real tracks out of all of those (not counting variations). On the other hand the large rally and hill climb tracks they made as homages to real world places do look quite fun.

Do you have a decent gaming PC right now? If so, you could spend the same amount as a 360 (or less) on a wheel and drive some pretty quality stuff on the PC while you're waiting for GT5. The graphics certainly aren't as flashy as the latest console titles but the driving experience can be pretty damn satisfying. I'd bet that Stapler would also vouch for this sentiment. Also, if you buy the right wheel you could migrate it from the PC over to the PS3 when GT5 comes out. Just trying to bring up your options.
#219
^That's a great idea, I never thought about that. Since I already have a 360, I won't need to do that, but if I was in the market for one I would think about that scenario before making that purchase.

And I honestly don't know. With the recent remodels, Acura may not have given them the info they needed in the timeframe they needed to construct them or some shit like that. I have no idea though, just throwing ideas out there.

Sorry for posting again but I had to throw this up here...
It's in French, sorry, but you can view all of the cars in FM3 (not including the DLC/bonus ones) here: http://www.xboxlive.fr/jeux_973.html
Go down to where it has the list of links in lime green. Click on any of the links dated 8/10/2009 and you can view the cars by manufacturer. Here's one for example:

The ultimate racing series that lets you slam into walls and use walls to floor it around corners? Cars may be realistic, and their driving physics, but bouncing off walls isn't part of racing. Even if GT5 includes this Forza's been doing since the get go.

Holy shit that benchmark track is SICK! I'm so pumped for this game. I'm glad they have a "top speed" track like the GT games had and also drag racing. Those were the two things that FM2 was missing.
These next 2 weeks are going to go by very slowly

I'm pumped for that track and pretty much this whole damn game. It comes out on the 27th (a Tuesday). Luckily I only have class 9-12:15

damn I can't wait. But I have to admit, as far as visuals are concerned, GT5 has it down pat. As realistic as it gets graphics-wise. Forza 3 does look great, don't get me wrong, and it does look a bit improved over Forza 2.... but I was strolling by a Sony Style while I was in Vegas and saw a NASCAR race on one of their screens. I watched a little longer, then all of a sudden it switched to rally and I was like holy shit, that's Gran Turismo 5!!!!!
I think that's when I'll be getting a PS3. I've always been more of a fan of Forza's physics though.... someone put it quite well, in Gran Turismo it kinda feels like your car is skating around the track rather than sticking to it.
and one more thing.... that Benchmark track looks like its going to be the shit!!! better than just a high speed ring. That's only fun in races when you wanna mess around and go backwards and see how hard you can hit the computer

Yeah, who knows about that. But I now I think I'll buy Forza 3 to prove myself wrong.

Like you said, I just felt that GT wasn't as "planted" as FM felt. And I hated bouncing off of walls. That killed my love for GT.
Once this comes out, we all need to post up our gamertags and race each other whenever we can
And another thing. Since it's two disc, that means you have to install the game on your hard drive correct? So what happens if you don't have enough room? I'm not trying to buy a new hard drive. Unless you only install disc two and run the game off of disc one.

I downloaded the demo and this game is SICK. The cars look perfect and the physics are outstanding. Hats off to Turn 10, I thought GT4 physics were good but Turn 10 has done and amazing job. Word on the street is the G25 steering wheel with clutch+6 speed stick will be compatible with X-Box 360 around Christmas. Heres to welding a rig to my old Tiburon seat, muahaha.
