Ant$ 01-31-2012 04:04 PM

I was going to get this car instead of my 2010 TL SH-AWD...

the only thing that stopped me was that they apparently ended production for the manual transmission AWD G's (I think in 2009?)....

EuRTSX, you need to get those M wheels on your G. I've seen that G37 driving around my neighborhood and those wheels look amazing in person.

Haha hey SHYU, I've seen him too, many times at Lexus of Rockville, definitely an eye catcher. :)

I'm not sure about pre-2010's. But as long as you're happy with your current car, that shouldn't matter. I really like the SH-AWD TL too, but this car just amazes me more and more each day. Almost scary how fast this car goes.

No V36(2007+) G sedan is available with both AWD and a manual transmission.

This Blue Slate G37xS showed up one day, and I pretty much ate up my pride and got pretty much the same color as my old car. Doesn't matter, I don't regret my purchase, this car is amazing.

Trust me man, a year from now you are going to love that color even more. I was in the same position. Was going to get black or silver but couldn't pass up the deal on the Blue Slate so I bit the bullet.

If there was a compliment I have received in the last 2 years, was the color.
Seriously it's a different color (and rare for a coupe) depending on the light. When it's noon and sunny looks darker blue and when it's cloudy out, the blue gets lighter.

Below is a link of mine if you care to see.

My 07 G was a Blue Slate too. I loved that it hid dirt well lol.

Very underrated color.

Hapa DC5 02-01-2012 05:16 PM

Blue Slate is the shizznit.

Congratulations Connie, nice upgrade from the TSX, I bet you it's a world in difference in terms of power :) We're overdue to meet up with TS for some food.

Chris. The BC Coilovers are garbage. There's a reason why BCs are so cheap. There are so many better options for your car.

JS + XES 02-01-2012 07:25 PM

I mean I guess if you just want to have the dropped look, the BC's are fine. But if you care about the handling performance and ride at all, you should get something better.

Your car looks great UNCTYPE-S, I've watched your thread since you got the car. And don't get me wrong, I love Blue Slate. In the sun, it really has a nice blue hint to it. Really reminds me of my CGP TSX so everyone who knows me says that my TSX was reborn into this monster haha :)

From my understanding, there isn't much as far as coilover systems for the AWD application. From what I know, BC Coilovers is the only one that developed a coilover system for the AWD G. Swift Springs also came out with a new spring set up for the car, just waiting for people to provide their input/reviews on their set up.

I have to disagree with you on this. I have not seen bad reviews for BC coilovers. Yes their are better coils however if you are not going to track the car they are just fine. I also don't think there are many options for the G37X.

Personally I have them on my F and the setup is absolutely great. The ride is better than stock and the handling is better as well.

LawnPro 02-02-2012 08:58 AM

Congrats Connie on your new Infiniti! Color is nice, dont see alot of it around, unique. Last year my dad was sold on the g, until he drove his bmw 3 series, i wish he had decided to go with the g.

I think it's the rims that make it look great. Gotta get those rims man. :teef:

UNCTYPE-S 02-02-2012 09:16 AM

If those are coilovers, he must have them set moderately. My springs are around that ride height if not, lower.

hANDYcaptd 02-02-2012 09:49 AM

WOW. Those M rims look AMAZING!!

Your name change got me

Didn't know G37x don't have much choice on suspension.

Swift Springs released their product for your car? Get that over BC Coils anyday. It's been proven that Swift Springs put so much effort on R&D for every application.

Hence, my post #102.

Maybe it's just the BC Coils for WRX/STI/EVO/MS3 then. So many people had serious problems with it that if anyone even mentions to put them on their cars, people would laugh at you right away.

"As much as we loved the drop height, it was unbearable to drive, going over the slightest dip, or a slightly raised manhole cover would smash the bottom of the car so hard that your teeth would clinch. AWD models have a terrible issue with lowering, you simply CANNOT drive that low, you will destroy your car within a few days, if not total it. Simply unsafe and hazardous. It was sitting exactly 25" off the ground at the center arch of the fenders, we raised it back up to 26" and the ride was perfect."

From myg37, this is why you can't slam a AWD G

crazyasiantl 02-02-2012 11:42 AM

:what: damn

CCColtsicehockey 02-02-2012 11:55 AM

So is that description about the height in the picture or is that after he raised it up?

UNCTYPE-S 02-02-2012 12:00 PM

That pic with the cig is with it's most aggressive stance I bet showing how dangerous it is. The parked picture does not look that low for coilovers.

My AWD G is lower than the parked picture and I am fine in Chicago. Of course I will scrape once in a while and lately with the snow not being plowed, I actually broke off that plastic bumper cover piece. LOL.

Maybe the sedans underneath is different than the coupes. :dunno:

Cool then Connie you should go for the height of the one with the M wheels.
