Z4 3.0i or S2000

That's why I don't understand how people feel the zero down $384/month is a good deal. Would you sell a 3 year old S2k with 36k on it for a touch over $16k? I doubt it, its costing you an extra $4k+ to drive the thing for those first three years to just give it back. Unless your reasons are tax modivated it makes sense to purchase this car. You can buy them at 10% off msrp and they still have good residual value. Sure you could probably invest the difference and make the money back, but you'll have to pay taxes on the interest and it may be tough - if your not a shrewd investor - to make $4k+ off the $14k difference in three years, not to mention most people would just blow the difference.... But now I am rambling.
Cliffnotes, if you have the money to buy this car you'd be better served to buy it then to lease it, unless its through a business for tax breaks- of course this is all IMO.

Regardless, one of the most important things about buying a car is "the buyer" feeling like he/she got a good deal.
Good luck with either car.

Why do you say that? I think the interior is terrific. Its the most minimal design of any car I know.

The S2000 is not a perfect car(in fact I don't think its "best" at anything) but it is one of the most fun to drive cars on the road, part of this fun comes from the cost, that even if something does happen its not a big deal.
It really depends what you are looking for from a car and just how raw you want it.
I would pay the extra 10k. BMW has more lux features than the S2k anyways. Inline 6 on the Z4 is soooo smooth and deilveres power throughout the rev band. That alone sold me when i drove it.
Plus..
BMW service > Honda service.
Im driving a S2k in a few weeks... ill comment once i do.

You want to see minimal drive an Elise, it will make the S2k seem like a luxury boat. As much as I am entertained with driving the Elise, I think its short comings would get to me, which is why I am not as serious about getting one any more. Its just to hard to get in and out of, and when your in there its not uncomfortable, but very cramped with a passenger, not to mention there is very little for trim work. The S2000 seems to be a rare breed in that it balances practicality, performance, style all in a fun to drive package.

All very true... but I have a hard time thinking of the elise as an actual car... more of a street legal go kart. That thing makes the s2k look bloated.
I was just referring to how there are almost no interior lights on the s2k, the stereo is covered up, basically very bland (in a good way).
I'd like my car so much better if I didn't live in Phoenix. I feel like this great car is going to waste on these straight, flat, open roads. Not to mention the car doesn't seem to get along well with triple digit temperatures and a/c on high.

Seems to me that the Z4 suits me better, I like the lux and prestige part LOL...
Thanks to all who made an effort to respond to my question.
Just curious, would the outcome be different if a stick Z4 2.5 and an S2k???

i comparing the Z4 2.5 and S2k since the MY06 Z4 2.5 will get the 215 hp engine, that's definitely enough hp for me. Since te 184 hp in my 325i is more that enough for daily driving.
Performance, to be honest, is one of the major factors, but refinement is also an important factor. Otherwise, i would take the 350Z instead.
Thanks for all the useful opinions.
