Sorry about your windshield, Yummy. Arizona forced insurers to give us full glass coverage with no deductictible down here because of how often they are broken...I need a new one after getting hit by three rocks right in front of my face in the last 4 weeks. It's a PITA, for sure, but having to pay so much out of pocket just makes it worse.

So does that give Saintor the edge again since he (presumably) has an intact Audi?

FML. Joys of living in this forsaken city is the back-breaking winters...and well, guess what folks?!?
My windshield after just 700km on the mileage is toast! I was being nice...let this minivan cut in front of me on the freeway ramp and a small pebble flew up into the windshield. Per the weather thread, I had noted how beyond cold it is here (-36F). The chip was initially small...penny size in total length...but, literally, as I was on the phone with the windshield repair shop so that they can get that resin fix in...the glass split completely across. Sigh.
I have windshield coverage but per Statefarm Canada, I need to eat $1K deductible. Estimate replacement cost with labor is $2500CAD.
I lose my car on Friday for this fix. Hopefully get it back by EoD.

Actually if he brings it to the dealer they're going to use a third party to replace the windshield anyway. Safelite can replace the windshield but it will have to go to the dealer afterwards to have the camera re-calibrated as you mentioned. IMO if the damage isn't too bad I would prefer Safelite to come to me, and then I'll make the appt to bring it to the dealer instead of it sitting at the dealer for several days.

I don't know if Safelite even exists up here. What would be the process...?
I know from checking that the windshield required has to have a coating so that the heads-up is visible...there are some calibrations required but the stealership is handling all of that. Not sure what other techs they will need to bring in.

Glad you got the car back so quickly. Hopefully, this time you can make it to a full month of use without any trips to the dealer.

But, this is me.
So, apparently, there is a small plastic cover that goes under the windshield and where the rearview mirror attaches...the crew who replaced my glass decided they wanted to "buff" it as there are scratches and nicks all over it. The dealership is ordering a replacement in and so...I'm going back later this week. Because, apparently, I love it there.

You think after enough trips there, they'll give you an assigned parking spot?

Damn. At this rate they should be upgrading you to an RS5 for all your troubles and giving you R8 each time as your loaner.

I mean i understand that owning a German car requires you to visit your dealer quite often and it seems you are taking fulllll advantage of it

Null and proud of it
Pretty much any (normal) dealer work is covered for 4 years? Good deal!
Atleast will be on first name basis without having to pay.
I always have to pay...
