Wrx crashes into pole at 100mph

This is so dang crazy. How do you survive that!!
Quote:
It took 45 minutes to extricate Dustin Moholland from his modified WRX after he smacked into a telephone poll at 100 mph. He survived, amazingly, but the car is toast and his friends are surprised it didn't happen earlier. NSFW.

Here's What Happens When You Crash Into A Telephone Poll At 100 MPH Looking at the damage to the WRX, and the obvious modifications, there's little question as to the type of driving that led to this unfortunate accident and the reaction Moholland's friends only reinforces this. At one point his friend Mike Erskine, who shot the video above, asks him "Dustin, I don't know if you understand how ****ing lucky you are."

It'll buff out.....

One thing this does demonstrate: Subaru does make a stout little car. The passenger compartment seemed to stay in tact. Yes, no roof but that was cut off by the emergency crews.

Hope the driver goes out and buys a Toyota Corolla and stays away from fast cars.

It would be cool to see it without all the car pieces stacked on it. This was not a head on at 100mph, looks like he just clipped the left front side and most of what makes it look really bad is the EMT cutting the doors and roof off to extract him and piling in on the car.

But say he was traveling a 100mph on the fwy and something was in his lane that he had to run over and couldnt avoid it, and that caused him to crash, I wouldnt be as upset as with someone drinking and driving. I mean I know a lot of us do speed, heck I've reached a 100+ in my car before. Just lucky I havent got into any trouble while up at that speed.

^ Unless you're referring to a different D&D thread, I didn't see any videos in that topic. GIF's, yes... but no videos.

The vid in the jalopnik link is what is left of the WRX after the accident...

Damn safety engineers getting in the way of natural selection. Wonder how long till he wrecks his next car. Sad that him and his friends think it is just a joke. I dunno maybe what is worse is that anyone who reads it wishes he would have been hurt more or killed, but better him than innocent ppl. So it looks like he says he took 3 or 4 vicatin pills and was drunk also, and driving 100 mph on regular streets cool beans.

tell him to get a Supra next time and rid us of his stupidity.

speaking of, Nick Hogan is doing OK these days

http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/...ry?id=11816225

The Pinellas County Jail complied with a public records request and released 36 hours of recordings of conversations between Nick and his parents. The family knew their calls were being recorded, but not that they'd be released to the media.

On the tapes, Nick can be heard asking his father to line up a new reality show for him to star in when he gets out of jail -- "I want to do it where I'll make the most money," he said.
OK, /rant

That guy was really lucky. Subaru's must be real though the box of bud light made it without a scratch.

they aren't

you can still tear them in two, if you want, and have the motor ripped from it's mounts too, so that is on the road by itself also (basically slide the car into a steel light pole at 100mph)

(btw happened to a friend from high school)

This is part of the reason why the Imprezas gained a few hundred pounds from the GC to GD chassis.... the "safety cage" that was implemented. Too bad the guy wasn't driving an older Impreza.

lol @ the Bud Light. Poor driving and decision making ability, AND poor taste in beer. This guy is officially worthless.
