Over the weekend, I saw this wreck reported near where I live. It seems the Acura (possibly an RSX?) was trying to pass on a two-lane road and didn't see a Dodge truck that was coming the other way. The truck tried to avoid the collision by going off on the side of the road and unfortunately, the Acura did the same thing and both collided while trying to avoid the other...

The Acura was split in half and one person died...

"A blue Acura heading eastbound and trying to pass traffic on the two-lane road hit a westbound silver Dodge pickup, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

"They both dodged off the roadway on the shoulder and made contact," said Sgt. Dennis Rodabaugh of the highway patrol.

Jessica Hughes, 16, died on the scene, according to the highway patrol.

Two of the truck's passengers and a passenger of the Acura were taken to Flagler Hospital, and they were all conscious, said Cpl. Chet Tomlinson of the highway patrol.

The crash happened around noon, and throughout the highway patrol's investigation, motorists on S.R. 16 slowed to get a look at the wreckage.

The force of the impact split the Acura in half. The front was on the shoulder upside-down. The rear was about 10 feet away in the trees, perpendicular to the ground.

The car's model was not immediately recognizable. The driver's seat and a good portion of the driver's side of the car were gone.

Debris littered the roadside..."

Looks like an S2000 from the photo of the rear. Very short rear. And AFAIK only the S2k comes in that funky blue color.

 

Thats an Integra..

S2000 is rear wheel drive, there is no drive shaft in that picture. Plus the article said Acura..

Yeah its definately a teg...my friend has one and the rims look the same...and the rear is the same..cuz its a hatchback...and the bumper lights are the same..

That particular year Integra (98+.. after the mild restyle) not only had "Integra" embossed on the rear bumper cover, but also on the front one.

 

It's quite clearly an Integra, by shape, wheel, and color.

And holy shit, it's split in two! That's pretty freaky!

Now i see why the teg bumper lights will work on 1st gen CLs if you turn them upside down that girl probably wasn't around long enough to see the back end say sayonara to the front end...

Makes me want to buy a truck. Most of the time, they win in a bad collision.

 

Integra. I could tell by the placement of the lower fascia and it's foglight placement, plus it's wheel style. Nasty accident.

 

You gotta feel for the parents when they got that call.

No disrepect meant to the victims of this car wreck, this is more a dig at the mass media and puppets that succumb to its brainwashing.

 

I wonder if the vehicle the Acura was attempting to pass began accelerating. :thumbsdn: I've been guilty of that. After seeing a Toyota truck almost flip, I slow down and let wreckless drivers pass. Too much ego on the road and it's not worth it.

 

The pic looks fake to me. Where's the smoke, the debris, there's no way a car can get cut in half from a head-on collision. Good Photoshop work though.

By the time the press gets there, the smoke probably subsided. Cars don't smoke for that long of a time after an accident either... only in the movies. Now that I think about it, the pic was probably taken by the investigator which would have been done a while after the accident occured. Also, where did it say it was a head-on collision. I didn't see that mentioned. They were heading towards each other when they veered off the road and collided. No where did it mention that they collided head-on. What it did mention that you seemed to miss is, and I quote "Debris littered the roadside..."

Anyway... that is a shame. I'm sure inexperience behind the wheel played a role as well. It sucks when you read stuff like that... but it sucks more when they're only 16yo.....

 

I don't think it was hit head on, The front bumper doesn't have alot of damage. But if you look at what you can see of the sides, there is some damage. The pic definatley wasn't taken the split second after the accident.
