wow, new acura RL

I just went to this link: http://www.acura.com/promo/rl/protot...p?initsection=

and watched the videos and looked at all the specs of the new RL prototype, and I must say I'm very impressed. The new SH-AWD system looks pretty nice, and the technology and everything else was awe-invoking. Check it out. I especially like the new Nav system with the integrated real-time traffic info. It tells you if there's an accident or construction, and the average speed of traffic in that section of traffic. They also introduced the keyless entry/ignition thing to this one too. 20" stockers (if they decide to keep them for public release), adaptive front lighting system, carbon-fiber reinforced driveshaft...all of this is more than I would have expected. I know the 300hp rating has been mentioned, but what are the torque numbers?

All I know is, after I get rid of my CL, I'm getting a new redesign RL. Not for a few years though, I'm gonna wait for Acura to work all the bugs out of the new redesign.

Wow... this is one of the finest luxury/performance sedans I've seen in a long time - look out BMW and Mercedes. I will definitely consider this as a second car, instead of an MDX.

Very good point. If Acura does release a new version of the CL, hopefully they will incorporate all of the new RL goodies into it.

For the RL, definitely, but for the CL I'd only be interested in a 6MT.

Acura is going in the right direction with the new RL. My only interest would be in a two-door version though.

hmm. love the interior - gauges are killer... front end is OK. don't like the Olds Aurora overtones at the rear.. also don't like the high ride-height, makes it kinda look like one of those hybrid XUV's or whatever.

I absolutely love this car and think Acura did an awesome job with the redesign but those fog lights dont sit well IMO. Everything else is awesome.

I don't think the narrator mentioned "Super Handling All Wheel Drive" enough times though

The rear end does a bit. I hate what they did with the trunk, just like on the new Accords. Looks more like an old person's car, which I guess is the target market so they got that right. Great features though and nice interior.

Unlike a lot of CL 5AT owners who generally beat the crap out of their cars, RL owners probably drive a lot more conservatively; hence no tranny issues.

It's practically been established though that driving habits have nothing to do with it since "normal" drivers have reported problems on the CL/TL; that is if you want to believe that they don't abuse their cars, I don't see why not to since I don't and am on my third tranny. Plus some trannies have gone out less than a day or so after driving off the lot. And I doubt most Odyssey and MDX drivers beat the crap out of their cars yet they are having tranny problems.

There aren't any tranny problems on the current RL because it's the older 4-speed
