I have to admit the C6 interior looks like umm.... not good. Reminds me of a GMC truck. Not good.
I only counted Gibson and Zapata (and maybe you ) in the Cayman corner so far. A poll should have been posted on this thread.

From what I have been seeing a base C6 Z06 should be around $58,000 which is the same as the Cayman. A C6 starts at $44,000, so by price we should be comparing the '06 Z06 to the Cayman and there is definitely no comparison there.

I have seen C6's going for 50's and even 60's with markup.

if you think the Z06 is gonna be selling for anywhere near $58k... umm yeah.

Yea, a 06 Z06 will sell for more than MSRP for a while, but every scorce I have seen, they are estimating it should be around a $60k base sticker price.

A chimp could get $2-$2500 off of a C6 coupe currently, the Verts are available at MSRP all day long (not sure if they are being discounted yet).

The Z06 will be selling for MSRP less than a year after introduction, just let the feeding frenzy calm down (and for those who got on a list at MSRP awhile back).

Not to mention, I think the Vette looks great. The Cayman has some extremely strange styling aspects to it.......I'm obviously not the only one who thinks so.

You add a few options to that Cayman S and you're going to $65k easy.

wouldnt it be a better comparison to talking about the z06 (what little we know about it) and this porche?

Also the talk is the 06 C6/Z06 will have an optional 6 speed automatic (6L80E) with a manual capability. An automatic with a clutch instead of a torque converter. This means paddle shifters.

ok umm.. you guys are right about this car being comparable pricewise to the C6 Z06 - not the standard C6 - but I dunno wouldn't that have been kind of a moot question then??

I mean, would anyone in here take a Cayman S over a C6 Z06?

well...since most ppl here would take a standard C6 over a Cayman, i'm sure they'll definitely take a Z06 over the cayman

feels like i'm saying "caveman" or 'gayman" like someone else said

If you can get a C6 Z06 for 58K, what dealer do I write the check to? I don't think it will be under 65....

The C6 is a better performance car, hands down.

I would still have more fun with a vette plus some mods. Have you ever been in a heads and cam vette pulling on a viper and a modena on the highway till about 170. I have and it was more fun than any 911 i have been in.

hmmmm a Boxter coupe = not as gay as a boxter, but still pretty Gay.

Don't get me wrong I love porsche's but I HATE cheep versions of the real thing. ie. BMW 318ti, any of the C-class and SLK MBZ's including AMG's (sorry Ronnie), Land Rover LR3, Lamboghini Gallardo's...

Plus i just got to take an 02 vette out for a drive on sat. and shit, the raw power is amazing there's really nothing like opening it up and knowing that there's so much more under the hood just waiting to be let out....

They aren't cheaper versions of the real thing, all of them are different models.

The Gallardo is smaller than the Murc and uses a V10 vs. the V12.

The SLK is smaller, sportier, and lighter than the SL, which is more of a luxury roadster (with some sport).

You're saying sorry for the SLK55? The car has been pulling 0-60 times of 4.5sec all day long (C&D got 4.3 out of it). What are you saying sorry for? The car's base $ is $61k, add in desirable options and you're at almost $67k (add a designo package and you're at almost $70k with any options). MB only imports 1k of them a year, making it more exclusive than the SL55.

Very stupid line of thinking.

What do you mean? This car will run no better than high 13s with the occasional mid 13 second pass, not exactly way faster than the Z.
