Smile Window Tinting

Hello,

I just bought a 2006 Acura TSX about a week ago and I love it!

Now I want to tint the windows of my TSX.

Does anyone know of a good place that does high quality, professional tinting in the San Diego Area?

And does anyone know if Acura Dealers do tinting?

Please let me know.

Thanks everyone!

i'm pretty sure you can take it to the dealer and have it done, but they dont do it, they'll bring in a company to do it for them. it's also more expensive than if you go straight to that company. before i got mine done, i asked the acura dealer if they could do it and they said they'd have a company come in and do it and they quoted me $100 more than what i actually paid going straight to the tinting place.

Wink Window Tinting

Thanks!...That helped alot...

So how did your tint job turn out?

My mom told me that it would be a bad idea to get my windows tinted because it peels easily, and also when she had hers done the person doing it accidentally cut the wires in her car, and now her defroster no longer works.

Do you have any similar experiences?

Thanks again!

Just take it to a private tint shop. They will be cheaper and do the same job.

If you got to a quality tint place, they will do a great job and cut around the defoggers. I wouldn't worry about peeling as the quality places usually give you a lifetime warranty. Sounds like your mom went to a crappy tinter.

Thanks synth19....I was not going to tint my windows due to my mom's experience, but you convinced me otherwise...As long as I go to a professional tint place I should be fine.

Thanks again!

Well I can tell your mom didn't go to a quality tinter if he even got a blade close to the defroster. It amazes me how many bad tinters there are out there. Your best bet is to check around and go to someone who you can verify their previous work. When I had my car done the guy never took his blade inside the car. He did all cutting and trimming outside the car and then simply took it inside and placed it on the window . Also as synth19 said the warranty should take care of any possible peeling issues

my tint job turned out really well, i've had it for about a year now and it's been through extreme heat and extreme cold and there's no signs of wear or peeling. as far as my defroster goes, it still works fine. any reputable place should know how to tint well, and it sounds like your mom didn't go to a good place. i paid $300 for my TL, just to give you an estimate, and it's damn near perfect.

I don't know about an 06 TSX but I have had issues with my 04 with tinting the back window, where the reciever is for the GPS. I would search through the TSX threads, and see what you find, i know that it was an issue for some people, i just don't know if 06 was included in that. I paid $200 for mine, luckily, my mom got her windows done the same time, and we got a discount. Both sets are absolutely perfect almost 2 years later. If you go to a reputable place, while it might cost a bit more, you will have nothing to worry about.

Where did you go? I need to get my car done, and I don't want to drive all the Hackensack where I got my last car done.

Tropic Tint. They have done about 15 cars of friends and absolutely no problems. Quick efficent, and perfect. I think they are in Union. Its always fun going in there because they have an entire wall in the shop with pics of all expensive/rare/cool cars they have done.

Found their website-http://www.tropicwindowtint.com/

Cool. I forgot about that place. I went by there once, but they were really packed.

Yeah they are always crazy busy. I had to wait about 3 weeks for an appointment, but it was well worth it in the end.
