Will Valentine pay for my speeding ticket?

I posted a while back I got pulled over clocked by laser going 61 in a 40.

I know people say that once your laser goes off you're screwed anyway, so the radar detector just tells me when I got caught. This situation was however different as I actually picked up the laser scatter on a car before me (the laser went off 3 times actually, last one being a direct hit). If you guys are familiar with this problem, but the new Infiniti's for some reason set off the V1 detector. Currently they provide no work around for this so I choose to ignore my laser due to the fact that it goes off everyday I drive with no cops around.

So will Valentine pay for my ticket? I can argue that if the laser reading was accurate I would pay attention to it.

Are you serious?
Were you actually going 61 in a 40?

Do they state anywhere that they pay tickets? I bet they would be out of business if they did that. First of all, how could you even prove that you had the detector on?

If you can't sue Trojan for an "accident", then I imagine that this would be the same...

3) The detector actually did it's job, he chose to ignore it

yet he thinks they should pay the ticket for him...
...am I missing something here??

In my defense I choose the ignore my LASER detection, not K or Ka. That's because it goes off almost everytime I get on the road whenever I pass a new Infiniti. I guess I just chose to ignore it since I'm not going to slow down everytime I drive pass a Inifiniti.

I strongly believe that Valentine needs to fix this bug, currently they are doing nothing about it. It makes the laser dector portion completely worthless. Someone at work told me they pay for your ticket (apprently he's lying) and since this detector was a gift to me I didn't know anything about the thing since I didn't pay for it.

$75 is not a big deal, just wanted to know if they would cover it since I'd love to see a company hold up their end if there ever was a situation where I got caught.

Mods, please close this thread, I got my answer

Some of the Infiniti SUVs come with laser-guided cruise control. The Audi Q7 now comes with the lane departure warning that can also set off radar detectors.

It's not the radar detector companies' fault. It's not their job to detect POLICE for you. They never claim that. Rather, they will only detect certain signals for you, so you, as the driver and the user of the radar detector, will make the decision to either ignore or accept the warning. In this case, you chose to ignore it, even though it was a legitimate warning.

On my commute home, there is a spot on the highway where the X-band always goes off. Yeah, the X-band. Yet, I still always watch out, because you just never know. If you ignored the Laser warning, then that's your own fault.

Better luck next time, I guess. And yeah, I'm also pissed about all these new cars coming out with laser and radar-guided shit... not to mention the Trailblazer and its siblings with their 3rd brake light that also sets off the laser warning. Ugh.

it's not a bug, the radar is doing EXACTLY what it's suppose to do. Pick up Laser signals.
