Doesn't mean she will do it, but doesnt hurt to tell her if you haven't already.
trust me, I've told her.

She's one of those people who has remote start and will use it five seconds prior to jumping in the car. I'd understand if it worked from a great distance and the car was nice and cool when she hops in... but it doesn't usually work out that way. As for the loud music at startup, she claims that it helps wake her up in the morning. I try not to complain much since, as i mentioned earliar, she respects my anal-retentive habits with my car. Except for the one about hiding garbage in the side map pocket... WTF!

^ I do not see the point in those remote starts that work within 5' of the car. When I get one I want it work like 1/2 a mile away, lol.

And I remember reading an article, that there are more accidents involved with females than males. It was close though, something like 5x% female and 4x% male. I'll see if I can find that. Dunno if it still stands

Either way when I see mistakes on the road its more than likely a woman, although I have seen my fair share of mistakes from guys.

I have to disagree with this. I think if you took a hundred of each you'd have a hundred males that all boasted they drove well and a hundred females who would be more honest with their assessment of their driving skills.

I've seen more accidents involving males acting foolishly or being overly confident in their driving skills than females making mistakes.

Not worried about my wife's driving so much as she is very careful, but I do worry about curb rash on the rims as she has done that in the past. God that makes me crazy.
Told her she better be really careful with the rims (18's) on the new TL because they are expensive to replace.

My girlfriend loved driving my TL, when I had it. She's extremely capable and I'd trust her without any reservations. I'm pretty sure she was probably harder on the damn thing than I was, the response was quicker whenever I got it back, i.e., downshifts happened earlier.

Now she's got her eyes on the Tahoe.

Does she do stupid, irrational shit? Of course! They're made that way! They don't think like we do and I wouldn't even want to try to understand them - I think they live in a different dimension than we do.
I won't get on her case about her Dory moments as I call them. But I do remember them and they come in useful when I do stupid shit myself.

I let my gf drive my 4runner the other day, and nearly jumped out of my skin when she started stopping short at red lights, and giving me whiplash while I could feel my tranny crying in pain from the hard stops.

yup think she was pulling the idk how it got there trick lol

Let me clarify though, she is a good driver and she can drive my TL whenever she likes. I have also had my share of dents so I am not saying that me or men are better drivers. At the end of the day they are just cars and as long as no one gets hurt all is good.

Try living here

And believe me, the stupid shit with driving knows no bounds. Race, gender, age are all played out well. My wife hit a telephone pole at 3 mph and caused $2200 of damage to our Odyssey. That was fun.

Why start a thread like this and call you wife out as "blonde and unsafe".

:ibhiswifeseesthisthreadandallhellbreaksloose:
Says the guy that makes a stereotype about asian's not knowing how to drive, I don't know if his wife is asian or not but that makes you sound like a tool also. No hate intended, just pointing something out.

I sort of disagree with u here. Most Men are more interested in cars then women therefore we put more effort into learning how to drive properly and pay more attention while we are driving. Most Women on the other hand are not as interested in cars and therefore do not put forth as much effort as men.

But when it comes down to it, you are correct: There are both idiots and excellent drivers from either sex.

I'm not going to add to the sexism here but let's just say the one time a woman drove my car, really the one time, this happened. It was my own mom...

She took it to the grocery store and I told her to park far away from other cars, preferably next to a curb on one side. She found the curb..

Is that why insurance is usually double the cost of what female drivers pay during the first ten years of their driving experience?....While they're "putting more effort into learning how to drive properly" and "paying more attention"?
