^Whats USAA? Never heard of it, or Unitrin...

I have Farmers, and my whole family has them too. Under 1 agent, there were 6 people, my parents, my sister, my cousin and his wife, and me. With full 2-way insurance, my car would have been ~$1500 for 6 months for full 2-way ($100k/$150k I believe) coverage w/ $250 deductible. No tickets, accidents or claims. With my dad listed as the main driver though, its only about $600. He hasn't even driven it for more than 5 mins.

And I am
-single
-19 yrs old
-non-smoker
-sub 3.0 student (would be a discount for 3.0+)
-good credit (730+)

Why the f is your insurance so high?

Ill think about it, but here in Jax its not as huge an issue as you may think.

I spend more on injury limits than anything - I forgot what I have but its retarded. Im not worried about a $60k Porsche - Im worried about a lifetime of rehabilitation if I cripple some sap in a 10 year old compact.

i pay $483 per 6months for 100/300 - full coverage with $250 comp and collision deductibles with Geico (no tickets, no accidents, single, 1 car, excellent credit).

I got a letter from e-surance saying they can save me up to $200, so I called them and they gave me a quote for the exact same coverage (the towing options were a little different, but minor). The guy says, "We're happy to tell you we can give you a rate of $700 for 6 months!" I'm like, "WOW...i'm paying $483 for 6 months right now."

USAA for sure. 100/300 plus renters insurance $468 six months 250 comp 500 collision. Not so perfect driving record either. Made 2 comp claims this year. Will this make my rate go up?

If you're still on your parent's policy your rate will be much less.

My roommate has an '07 4Runner and he has 2 tickets and a DUI and he pays $96 a month since it's on his parent's plan. His commute is also only 10 miles.

Watch out for Farmers.

With your 100/300 limits...that only covers the named insured on the vehicle. Anyone else...friends/relative/etc...they only cover them for the legal minimum limits of 20/40/15. <--outrageous. You hit ANYTHING, and you're paying out of pocket.

P.S. For those that don't know. 20/40/15 is:

$20K for bodily injury (each person)
$40K total bodily injury for the whole accident
$15K property damage (pole, sign, car, house, whatever you hit)

I seperated my shoulder and 4 hrs in the ER was $8K for a sling and some X-Rays (glad I didn't take their tylenol, that would have been another couple hundred for sure!!). So imagine if you are in an accident and someone's hurt. $20K won't really cover you at all.

I was paying $233/month. Policy renewal came and it jumped to $286/month!

I have never made an insurance claim in my life. I called and they told me it was a statewide readjustment and to call back in March when the ticket on my record is over 3 years old (falls off the record) and I've turned 25 and they will re-write the policy.

This is on a '03 CL-S.

WTF!
each ticket is 3 points, wel in Va anyway, reckless and DUI are 6 points

Just be thankful that you don't live in MA... Lots of insurance companies don't offer insurance to people in MA. I can't get Geico, Progressive, etc because they won't do business in a state where in the insurance is regulated
