Why does the 91-95 Legend look more luxury than the new Acuras?
I was looking on ebaymotors at some 91-95 Acura Legend Coupes/Sedans and must say the overall design looks more classy than the new Acuras of today. It's like Acura regressed on their exterior designs, but improve their interiors than from 10 yrs ago. The Legend and Vigor look nothing like a Honda at all, that's probably why.

Is this another "bring back the Legend" post? I'm tired of all the whining
The Legend was nice, but it's old news now. I tend to disagree with your statement. I think the new Acuras look nicer. They aren't quite as conservative as the Legend.

I agree. Whoever designed the Legend, knew their stuff. Short front overhang, long wheelbase, big windows, nice upper crease in the sides, very subtle. Nice headlights and nice rear tails. Then Again, the Legend was 45k loaded new, it was not cheap fully equipped.
The new Acuras look nice but don't really equate luxury. I think the TL is very close.
But then again, they are entry-level luxury. So there lies your answer.
Also Honda dictates Acura styling. Honda WANTS Acuras to look like Hondas. Very conservative company. Since both Honda and Acura sell well, clearly their strategy works for them.

I really like the 91-95 Legend coupes even though they don't have as much room inside as my 97 CL. But they do have the mojo. ( That's why I'm looking for one still!) You're right, Honda has been very careful to price the current products at their target market. They haven't wanted to compete against Lexus with a V8, but with all that has happened to Toyota I wouldn't be too surprised to see a more expensive V8 Acura product in the next year or so.

Clearly?
If they remade the Legend in the exact same body style, upgraded to HIDs, added some new tech features to the interior (nav, bluetooth, etc.) I would stand in line to buy one (note I said in line, in other words I wouldn't be the only one).

just because its outdated doesnt mean poeple wouldnt buy it... i'd buy a brand new 2 door integra GSR, is it outdated? yes..
outdated can mean many things. in my case it means its exterior styling is reminiscent of 90's vehicles and in a lineup with 10 other cars from today, a high school girl could pick out the "older" car.
i love legends just as much as the next guy. your assuming im bashing it which im not/wasnt. its a timless car but lets not go off thinking it looks like a 2010 model
beautiful classic acura.. and i admire it just like you.

The features of that car ... even some of the newer luxury models don't have them!
And finding a Type-2 engine ... 6MT ... those babies are super rare to find with low miles and decent condition.
I wanted a Legend and an NSX back in the 90s ... When I could afford a new car, I got a '02 TL-S when they came out!
Thanks whomever bumped this super old thread.
