Do u regret buying it. I just washd my brothers TSX and 10 mins later I already see spots. I just think Its really hard keeping a black car clean. I still think black is one of the classiest colors you can get. But damn it gets dirty fast.

Nighthawk Black here

Yes I agree sometimes I don't think its worth it to have black but im stuck with it. I have recently found something called Meguires Speed Detailer that works awesome for making the paint just sparkle in a matter of minutes.

My 07 Accord is Nighthawk Black Pearl. As it resides in my garage most of the time, it gets VERY dusty....and being black, the dust layer is VERY noticeable. There are times I think I might have been better served going with Desert Mist Metallic, as it would definitely hide dust better. ......but when dust free, black is tops.

I have a black car too, my '95 Supra; I wouldn't trade it for any other color but it takes a lot to keep it looking good ...which is why mine is not always perfect but I try.

I love black. Every vehicle I have except the Accord is black. As KaMLuNg already mentioned, a California Duster works great. If there is only dust on the car, the duster will easily remove it and won't harm or scratch the finish. I use it on both the Grand National and Shelby, two cars I'm fanatical about, and have absolutely no ill effects. Also placing a car cover on the vehicle while in the garage helps greatly with keeping dust off the finish. Black may be a pain to keep clean, but it's one of the classier colors when clean.

I have a NBP 04 TL and I love it...nothing looks better when its clean. A bit of a pain in the winter months with the salt, sand, and dust...but everyone else's car looks about like that as well..

When I wash it though, the car looks HOT. Very likely my next car will be black....

I have a DEP TL. After a good detailing it looks awesome. The reflectiveness from a dark colored car that has been properly detailed is stunning. Much more so than a light colored car IMO.

I had a black vehicle prior to my current car.... it's tough to keep clean especially in Spring when there's a ton of pollen and other shit flying around. So I got myself a WDP when I bought the TL.........it's about the same........ just as hard to keep clean but a bit easier. Silver is the way to go if you're the lazy type to wash and clean. But nothing beats a clean black car just after detailing......................

The only black car I would get is the mercedes........

05 NBP TSX

I dont know if I will ever NOT have a black car. When the car is properly detailed, nothing looks better than black IMO.

It's a PITA to keep it looking good, but worth it.

We traded in my black TL-S for a new black RX and it's the same dilemma all over again. I love the look of it in black, but every time I see dust or dirt on the car, I regret getting it. Though when it's clean, I think it's worth all the trouble.

My next personal car should be a light color one, maybe white? or black?

i remember the day i got hooked on black cars... i was standing in front of a club waiting for my friend in NY... and a clean black G35C with tints came down the road with chrome 19's, staggered and lowered perfectly... when the streetlight hit the car and made that little bling off the hood and the wheels... OMG sex!!! newfound love for black cars...

Ive had two black cars, and the TL will be my last black car. Its just too much of a pain to keep clean, next car will be silver or gray

Black does look good when clean though.

I'm curious, has anyone tried that "Mr. Clean" or whatever it is, spotless car wash system on a black or dark car?

I've tried it and it sucks. I use Meg's NXT car wash with a big old foam sponge and then dry with my California Dry Blade and then with some MF towels to get in those hard to reach spots. I never have water spots as they look terrible on a dark colored car. I'd rather my car be covered in dirt or pollen than have it covered with water spots. The California Duster is awesome too. I use mine all the time. California Dash Duster is great too, I also use Meg Quik Detailer spray. If you keep up with your detialing and wax your car the right way and often using the Quim Detailer is very easy and it makes it look like you just waxed it again.

OP-you're bitching about keeping a car clean and you live in Tampa???? Try keeping a SB 350Z clean in Buffalo! OTOH, SB is the only color for that car as far as I'm concerned . . . .

I will NEVER get a black car again. I'm always stressing to keep it clean and I trip about swirls and defects. My next car will definitely be white.

Black is the ultimate color. When it is clean, there is nothing better. With that said, I will never have a black car as a daily driver.

I used to think that but if I keep up with my car its not that bad. Even when it looks like hell a quick wash and wax or speed detailer and its back to that mirror finish like you posted of that vette

For example this weekend me and the GF drove 2hrs up to the poconos to ride horses. Well to get into the place I had to drive back a 1.5mile dirt road and it was in a cloud of dust the whole time we were there. Then another 2hrs back home. The car was soo nasty looking, covered in bugs, caked with dust and dirt. The next day I washed it with all my NXT stuff and its just as sexy as when I got it.

I have to find an "expert" detailer around here for my car. I just can't find the time or patience to do it right. One of the local guys had his car detailed and the before and after close up shots are so dramatic, you can see the swirls and scratches just totally disappear, but it ain't cheap. Here's a decent shot of his finished black beauty:

Thanks for the response. I've always wondered how well they work, and it seems as if very few people actually use it.

It's Called OCD

I had a 05 NBP TL, got it in August, traded it in Feb 2006 for a 06 ASM TL. Not being able to keep it (showroom)clean and the dealer damaging the front bumper when left to buff out scratches they made when dry the car off after they washed it. I told them NOT to wash.

I had a 91 Blk GTI, I told myself that I would never get another black car. Boy do I have trouble listening sometimes.

I washed my TL Saturday, this morning it was coated with pollen. I took out my Cali duster and it looked great again.

White is NOT your sollution, I have scratches, swirls galore and they're very apparent from when far away, also during spring (when those damned plants are spreading thier green mess everywhere) it's even more annoying. I think white and Black are horrible, but silver, now that's a good color, I rarely feel like I need to wash that silver camry, yet it doesn't look as good as a clean white/black car.

I loved my deep evergreen, practically black, 97 max and the NBP 03 CL-S that I had, but keeping it clean was a chore. Every weekend = 1 car washing, a real waste of $ and time.

Current car is no longer black and I definitely miss the 'sexiness' of having a black car. What I don't miss: pollen, dust, hard water marks & swirls

Why dont you learn so you can do it yourself? Save yourself some money in the long run, and take up detailing in a serious way.

I have an ABP which is pretty dark, and it gets dusty VERY easy. I also use the cali duster and it works great
