It's the case even on my "American" car.

Engine is hecho en Mexico at a Chevy plant.
Stock wheels are made in Taiwan.
The big Brembos and the brake rotors? Made in Italy.
I could go on.....

Could very well be the other way around too. I've worked for a couple major auto parts suppliers and I'd say out of all their stamping dies, at least half were from Korea or China.

Lots of high quality stuff coming out of China now. They had to raise the bar, in part because the stuff they were manufacturing before was so bad.
