...dealership refuses to cooperate and I think Acura should know. I couldn't find an address though.

^ Let us know the dealership and the circumstances. Do not bash the dealership unnecessarily, but if they are really giving you a hard time it would be good for our members to know the story...

damn that sucks! Hopefully you find a solution for this. How far out are you from warranty? Would they consider a good will repair?

Would buying the part from acuraoemparts.com or from one of our sponsor's help reduce the repair cost?

i'm almost at 60,000 miles so i'm about 10,000 miles out of warranty.

i called the dealer i normally take my car into for service, and they said i'd have to pay. called some other acura dealers, and they said the same thing.

i'm planning on buying the part myself. it should save some money. i think there's like a $10 difference between buying it myself and the dealer buying it.

so my options are to: 1) get it fixed at the dealer, spend $200 or so, and get a loaner; 2) take it an independent shop, get it fixed for about $160 w/o part, but no loaner; or 3) DIY...saw some threads on AZ about fixing it yourself.

it's been a few months with the door not working. just haven't had time to get it fixed, and i'm waiting for it to be recalled.

(graten2go, sorry to hijack your thread.)

$10 difference? that's it? I'm guessing the part must be cheap and most of the cost is due to labor?

If so, pay the extra $40 bucks and get it done at the dealership and get a loaner or do it yourself.

I'm in a bind right now too. The window motor regulator is going bad on my teg. I've heard of a lot of people complain about this part on the Integra boards which leads me to believe that it wasn't engineered properly to begin with. In fact, the same thing happened on my first Integra. It's a given that it will fail at some point. When it completely fails I'll have to get it fixed right away otherwise the window won't roll up at all and it's not cheap. The OEM part is $350 from an online source, or $450+ from the dealer not counting labor. FML.

Haven't people had success when writing HQ before? Dealers look out for themselves, HQ looks out for the brand name.

Interesting information obtained in this post with the warranty. I had warranty from Acura but never used it. The reason I asked was because the Acura dealership discriminated against me. They lost my keys and revised the repair bill (over $1500) all because of my religion. I have written two complaints to the dealership and my letter never received a followup. Since I am thinking about taking this to Small Claims Court, I do not want to mention the specific dealership but they know who I am.

Exactly how are you going to prove that?

Not saying it didn't happen, but how can you demonstrate (to Acura Corporate or in small claims court) that this isn't a case of "he says, she says"?

I highly doubt this is true. That is a bold accusation to make, you may want to run some details by us before you make a mistake and get sued for libel/slander.

Or the OP may want to contact a local lawyer. Seriously, last thing the OP should do is write a letter with those accusations w/o having a lawyer review it... otherwise you're right... he may find himself in court!
