The M3 should be out in 07 some time I would think, probably 2nd- 3rd quarter.

Belt....are most still thinking that the coupe will be close to $70K (loaded) when it is released? I've been on M3forums a few times and the general consensus is that it will be about a 5-6K increase over the E46.

Thanks a bunch for the info... ...some days I love my CL and other days I could care less...I quess I should consider buying an M3 'vert, after I buy a house FIRST, and not be messed up about it for now...all things in their own good time...

When I get my M3, I going to get a 06 E46. I dont want a first year production car, dont want to worry about problems.

Does the 6 series come with a side grill like the M3? I saw a 6 series with a side grill and thought to myself.. hmm.. is that a M6?? I live in Houston and it had new plates too. If it was, it wasnt eye catching like an M3 was when it first came out.

Yeah, you should obviously secure a home first before buying a pricey car like the new M3 .......but no doubt its going to be an incredible car (400hp V8!!!).

I'm guessing it will come in at just under $60k base.....loaded around $66-$70k (for the coupe).

Depends, 2 seat sportscar vs. 4 seat GT.........same argument going back to the E46 M3 and the C5 Z06.

Buy what works for your situation.

I personally would not drive a Z06 everyday, would have to be a 2nd car.

I was considering the next gen M3 for my next car especially when I heard about the 400HP V8.
I even thought about putting my name on a pre-order list way back then.

That was until I saw what they decided to sell the 6-Series for.
That gave me a pretty good idea what the M3 would go for when it came out.
BMW makes some awesome cars, but their prices just aren’t worth it to me.

some are saying now it will be something like a 444 hp v8.. it's been spoted doing hot weather testing in southern california and such.

The reason bmw board people would thing it's only gonna go up a couple k in price.. is because that is what it has done every re design.

I figure it will definitely be over 400hp, but by how much is the question.

If BMW is smart it will be 420hp+, which I think is a safe assumption being that the RS4 which is due out soon is around 420hp.

The M3 is due out in over a year from now and 400hp by then would certainly be yesterday's news.

So my bet is 420h-450hp.

From what i hear they will be using the E39 M5's engine in the M3. If thats true then anything under 500hp can be reached. Of course im basing that off this sweet thing.. http://www.fantasycars.com/1/News/As...ascarikz1.html

Ahhh it was a M6! I just checked myself by looking at the M6 pictures. Maybe its not called a grill.. but the signature grills the M3 have on the sides behind the wheel. Like this car! I guess its out and one is in Houston. Saw it on Beltway on the feeder. It wasnt too eye catching as I said.

They are pretty pricy to insure too..even with me being 40 and all... I heard it has alot to do with the parts...

What color was the one you saw? I always have thought of the M cars as sleepers...it is usually too late when you realize that those FOUR backs pipes are something you will be seeing as it pulls away from you...

less than the standard cars thanks to aluminium panels, carbon fibre trim and heavy components such as the air-conditioning unit removed. The M3 is expected to appear in late 2005 and will cost about £45,000.
this cant be true anymore...

It was all black. But it was dirty. It was a day after it rained. The funny thing is that later on that night I saw another 6 series on Westheimer with 22's (deep dish) and it looked SWEET!! Also brand new plates. Hmmm.. I didnt pay attention to see if it was a M6 because those rims hypnotized me! I dont think it was.. but you never know.
