I think old school would look sick because the chrome domestic rims are everywhere...don't see too many of the weld-esque rims. When I see the chrome rims like you posted I always think of just some guy with a trans-am thinking he's badass with his tats and ac/dc blaring (no offense to trans-ams, tats, or ac/dc). If I saw the weld rims I would think business and that the driver isn't a tool.

If you decide to go with chrome Z06 rims, I have a set of fronts left over from my 03 Z that I recently sold. They are OEM, so are 17".
Not sure if you would be interested, but figured I would let you know. They have been sitting in my closet for the past couple of months ans I need to get rid of them. They are perfect with not a scratch on them.
Let me know if you are interested.
