Are you a defensive driver? If so, How?

Mostly I stay alert for silver haired old ladies and younger men in three series BMWs. Both types are almost guaranteed to do something dangerous.

Agreed. Early 90's 3 series nearly killed me today on I-5. This kid should have had some tint on his windows.. he had more zits than Britney Spears.

Silver-haired ladies are almost as bad, though mostly due to negligence and inattention. They tend to drive Avalons and Camry's.

Situational awareness is the #1 step to good driving period!

Old people - argh. I dont have a grudge against them, but they should stay on the slow lane, yes?

Well, around here in Los Angeles, there exsist a type of driver called MIDDLE AGED ASIAN WOMEN IN EXPENSIVE CARS (MAAWEC). They do annoying things such as going <30mph on a 45 street on the fast lane, talk on the cell phone, not signaling, wear gloves that cover their arms all the way up to the elbow (to block the sun), and have hats that cover their entire face (to block the sun again, which also limits their view of vision). And the worst thing is, their husbands are usually wealthy enough throw them a MB S55 AMG/BMW 745/etc. to pick up the kids and buy some groceries.

What I do? I simply pass them on the other lane and sigh. But I gotta say, I've had a number of close calls because of their slow (ironic huh) and careless driving.

And it's always go to keep yourself alert and awake. Don't tailgate, either.

I usally drive safely, and let the morons do thier thing.

around this inbred part of pa, they don't know how to drive. if you think someone will pull out in front of you no matter how close you are they most likely will. i am just waiting for someone to plow into me everyday

I stay away from big trucks, dont be in their blind spot as its hard to see a Silver TL.

Also, I drive with my lights on frequently, even thought your not supposed to in CA (running lights or even HIDs)

Lean on the horn once in a while and let everyone know "yo" (TL has a meeaty sounding horn)
