Looked at the bimmer and an A4.... both would've cost me more for what I wanted.
I liked the TSX better, better styling, Honda reliability. The interior layout and feel sold me on the car more than anything.
boxster would be a second car...mini cooper, no experience with them.

ehh...how is the TSX the best overall car, its too slow. Acura messed up big time by putting a 4cyl in there. I would go with the bimmer, faster, better handling, better looking and better resale. People complain that they are not that reliable, bullsh*t, the same can be said about a CL or TL...the BMW has a full warranty.

contrary to most here...i actually like the fact that the TSX has a high-revving four banger. Id go for the TSX with the 6 speed tranny. Great, all-round, fun car to drive. Then again, depends on your needs and your defeinition of fun - for me, i'd love to wind that four banger to extract maximum power out of it. 0-60 in 6.7 seconds aint to bad (motortrend figures, i think). And plus, 4 cylinders mean that it gets pretty good gas mileage. Get an A-SPEC to make the car look more aggresive and unique.
Want a V6 TSX - get a 05 or 04TL....would be about the same as a 05 audi A4 (I would think)

Personally, I'd consider the AV6. What the AV6 lacks in 'BLING' it'll make up for everywhere else.

Boxster then Mini
TSX is boring I have one in my garage right now (loander from Acura) it's SLOW!
3 series is nice, but not very exciting.
Never been a big audi fan.
My only complain abou the mini is it's FWD. A little car like that is perfect to go to work.

I'd go with the Mini Cooper S with the John Works package. for the simple reason I drove one at a SCCA Solo2 event WOW. for being a stock car they handle awesome. . Plus the heads are modified(over the regular Mini ) best of all you get full warrenty with the mods

I dunno what everyoine is talking about with the TSX, it goes no-where on the highway. Had decent pickup for city driving. But to pass anyone on the highway you have to mash the accelerator to the floor and patiently wait.
Besides that the car was fantastic, excellent build quality on the one I had. But not enough power for me.

I've never had any problems with power. Perhaps you just didn't shift down far enough to get into the power band.

I was very impressed the engineers were able to seperate the engine well enough the vibration/noise wasn't very apparent in the TSX. 4cyl engines usually run a bit rough.

Regardless, the TSX could use more power, sure, but saying that it's woefully less powerful than any of the other choices (with the exception of the boxster) would be a bit overexaggerated.
