Mini and boxster are a little off topic. Otherwise TSX all the way.

TSX, without a doubt. I don't like the Boxster and the Mini is too small. The BMW and the Audi are both overpriced after options.

Good points. I'll just add that a fully loaded Cooper S can MSRP for about the same as a TSX w/Navi.

Just looking at the choices, the TSX has decent performance, sharp looks, good handling, great amenities and build quality that the others cant even come close to all for well under $30G.

Tsx

Edit: Because it is a well rounded package. Decent room, decently powerful engine, nice manual tranny available, ass kicking guages, plenty of aftermarket, and very reliable.

BMW 325i: leaves you wanting more I guess.
A4: not bad, but I've "heard" that they have electrical problems
Mini: too damn small. another one of those trendy "fad" cars to some
Boxster: too small again (I'm 6'3"). many have the attitude that its not a "real" Porsche.

TSX for sure. I have both a BMW (loaded E46 328i) and a TSX in my garage, so I won't be bias.

if you have the money to buy in and upkeep a BMW, along with some guts to hope it functions well, the BMW 325i is great. ONLY problem is, the new one comes out soon.

Otherwise, buy a TSX. If you want a 325i sport package but don't have the money, get a TSX A-Spec (overpriced, IMO).

1) 2005 BMW 325i - not reliable, much more $$$
2) 2005 Audi A4 - poor service, looses value fast
3) 2005 Acura TSX - best of the bunch, good value & reliability
4) 2005 Mini Cooper S - very small, but fun
5) 1999 Porsche Boxster - doesn't compare, in a class of its own, very small

I don't buy new cars, so... to all of the above. If I was to get a good deal, however, my first pick would be the A4 and then the TSX.

Why does everyone say the Mini is so small, its not. There is plenty of room inside, and you can haul a fair amount of stuff, just plan on losing the rear seat. Plus they are insanely fun to drive. It handles like a go-kart.

And your list is a little mixed. The Mini S and Boxster are out of place in the list. It also depends on your needs. The Boxster is not practical, the BMW won't be as good in the snow as the others, the Audis are expensive to maintain, and the the TSX is good all around. So is the Mini, but its slightly smaller.

TSX

It's still the best value in it's class. The LGT is a nice option if you prefer something a little faster and don't mind losing a little reliability in the process.

You are on an Acura board so it's fairly obvious that everyone is going to go for the Acura. I'd personally go for the '05 A4, especially if it's the new body style. If the new Audis have that ugly black bumper strip under the taillight, however, go to a body shop and get it painted. If it's the current body style you could probably get a sweet deal on it too.

I don't have anything against the TSX in particular; it's just that I don’t like an NA 4cyl in a sedan.

Audi is the same price as the TSX. (if we are comparing FWD models)

I won't buy a 4 cly car as a daily driver (low end torque)

Put a V6 in it, and it might be another story...

I was deciding between a used 328i and a TSX before I bought my TSX, I'd be curious to hear your experience about the 328i. Read-drive and extra hp not worth the bad reliability?
