What was the worst speeding ticket you ever got?
#43
I got 90 in a 35 in my 350z. Got arrested. Charged with careless and indecent driving.
Cost about $600 to fix --> $150 for lawyer, and a $450 "parking fine."
NO POINTS THOUGH!

true story...the fact that I am in the army and it was a small town is what kept me out of jail and losing my license. And miraculously enough...no points were on my license either

I got nailed the first week I had my CL-S. I just decided to hit the gas on an open stretch of highway, got up to about 140, then blew by a cop at 110. He gave me a ticket for 80 in a 55. Costs about $250, but could have been a lot worse! That was the last time I went that fast, I keep it in the double digits now.

83 in a 70, on valentines day, while driving to Houston to see my gf. I took out my keys, put them on the dash, lowered both windows, had my hands on the wheel, and the fucker didn't cut me any slack at all. It was in La Grange, TX...never speeding through that shitass town again.
But on the other hand, i'm glad i got the ticket for going 83, rather than 100+.

135 in a 55. I was on my RZ500 on Kanan Dume Road. 1985 I think. Went to jail, bailed out. Lost my license for 90 days.

106 in a 65 at 6 in the morning on an open road in New Hampshire in February. I'm an idiot, I deserved it, that's all that is to it. Haven't touched anywhere near that since. Guess I learned my lesson...

Mine is kind weak sauce, 79 in a 65 passing a truck. Cop was behind a bridge, I was really doing 85, but he lowered it due to my being courteous with him. Last time I was pulled over for doing 20 over the limit 56 in a 35 I straight up told the cop I was trying to feel out my new car and had my interior lights on, hands on the wheel, keys on the dash, and he let me go with just a fine, no points. He said he better not ever see me speeding again in his jurisdiction and to watch out for deer on these backroads.

84 in 55 right when I got my CLS an before I even burnt my first tank of gas out! U need to watch out on a bike man. I had a good buddy pass in 06 on a bike. They are no joke esp if ur under 25 cuz most riders are more likely to speed and be wreckless. A 21 yr old in my city died last wk, hit the SUV so hard it flipped and landed on top of em!! Life is short....

Only have one speeding ticket, got it for "30+ (35) in a 25". Cop didn't even know how fast I was going if he put 30+ and then wrote 35 in parenthesis afterwards... I should have challenged this ticket since it was a BS ticket anyways, no way was I going above 20-25 since that area has killer speedbumps...not even possible to speed there. The cop was also hiding on someone's driveway...oh well at least my insurance ignores this ticket.

Funny this thread started...
I was having a bad day; my sister told me one of my friends died Sunday in a motorcycle accident. On my way home, I drove down a semi-busy road, rather empty at night, and a cop popped his lights.
I was going north bound, he was going south; he was behind 4-5 cars and had 4-5 cars behind him. I saw him turn on his lights and made a U-turn. Mentally, I thought I was going 45, but he told me he got me going 60. I really had no idea how fast I was going; I just couldn't get the bad news out of my mind.
Anyways, I did everything we, the forum, talked about when getting pulled over, and he didn't budge. He asked m e how fast I was going, and I told him I was around 50(45 maximum speed limit). I also asked to see the radar, and he told me there is no point because he didn't lock me in. Anyways, he gave me a 60 in a 45, my only speeding ticket.
I'm thinking about taking it online and just getting it out of my record; I have no desire to fight it atm, especially with my good friend passing away.
I think it's a little BS, but is there really enough to work with here?
Meh, rant over, 60 in a 45 is my worst.

80 in a 50 back in like 1998. On the belt parkway at 3am coming back from the city, few cars on the road, all of us were in the left lane going the same speed, but i was the one behind the cop (he was also going 80), he slowed down, then I did, the person behind me did, and him, etc...at some point I passed him verrrrry slowly at about 55mph, then he just lit up and pulled me over for going 80mph. I told him I was going with the flow, then he said "I am not the flow, you can not pace me, I can go as fast as I need to go" . Had a 1995 Mazda Millenia S at the time. Fought the ticket with a lawyer. My attorney found a lot of faults in the cops testimony, and the breaking point was when the cop labeled my car as a "White 1995 Lexus", in which at that point, the cop couldn't verify that info because his copy of the ticket was smudged by the "make" and got off with the Not Guilty plea. I mean I know the Millenia was a nice looking car, but compare its looks to a Lexus? I dunno about that...

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Two times, same type of ticket, but two very different cops.
1991, I was on leave from the Army and down in South Florida. I took my brother, his buddy down to Homestead AFB. Once you are on the Turnpike south of Miami, there is nothing but flat land, no cars. Nothing. So I thought I could be a wise ass and open op the Olds rental car I had. I think I was north of 110 mph when I saw a blue blur in my rear window. 5 seconds later, a FHP Mustang was on my ass. Gave the cop the stuff plus my Army ID card. We talked, and he knocked it down from 110 plus to 75 in a 55. $167 please. I stress, there was no one on the road, and straighter than an arrow.
The other time (1990), I was in Pennsyl-tuckey, driving down I-81. I just saw some dudes get pulled over at the NY/PA line and laughed. I go to pass a truck and bam. Lights. I pull over and try my Army soldier thing. This guy looks and hands it back, says nothing. Hands me the ticket and only says "signing this does not admit guilt, instructions are on the back". What a prick. 75 in a 55. Fucking piehole.
Since then, only in foreign countries. No big deal.

I went almost 5 years - my whole driving career - without getting a moving violation. I was about a month away from hitting the 6-year mark, when my insurance would've dropped as low as it could possibly go. But on a ride back home from school, I finally got my first speeding violation: a 74 in a 25. I didn't slow down fast enough going intoa rotary and got radared. Got it down to $100, too, after taking it to court.
