Kawasaki KLR 650

A thumper. Reliable as an anvil, and can be repaired in the ditch while drunk and one arm tied behind your back. My four KLR's have carried me well over 350 000 kilometers throughout North and South America.

No way i could ride a bike for that long of a trip!

I'd get a Land Rover Sport. Offroading and comfort.

And that's what makes it interesting; you've ultimately done so much that most people never do.

As for the original question, I like the Range Rover and the H1 options.

I would have to go with a Unimog. Some people have turned them into campers. Here's an article: http://www.off-road.com/offroad/Merc.../detail/387682

This guy built a crazy off-road trailer for his:

They'll go through anything and not break down.

FJ62 Land Cruiser or something else that is a mature design sold around the world. That way you can find parts and people who can work on it.

So many of the vehicles mentioned don't fall into this category. If I broke down in Botswana, the last thing I want to be driving is a late model luxury car. Not only will you not be able to find support, but it will be a constant target. Old land cruisers can be found everywhere and you can use almost any generic part to fix them, since the design stole a lot from other vehicles.

if i had to choose ANY car, LS460hl might have to do it, althou idk, for a trip like this you really need to have a car you won't get bored driving of after a while, most of those every one is listing, personally, i'd get bored after 500miles. honestly i would mind taking my Legend. Highway driving in that thing is fucking awesome, i love road tripping in that car.

I take it that was a Hummer H2 at one point?

Personally, I'll take the Gulfstream.
