I've been to the local Acura dealer a couple times to take a look but it just doesn't appeal to me. The interior is nice though.

Besides the 4th gen TL, some worthy contendors:

And you thought the new TL was bad, this thing is just flat-out hilarious! It's the Acura Advance sedan concept.

Ahhhh. The Acura Advance Sports Concept.

I saw that thing at the LA auto show a few years ago and i was amazed at how many people where looking at it and laughing and i didnt hear one positive comment about it.....You can see by looking at it where their ideas are coming from and why the 4G has such an undesirable exterior.

A couple people mentioned that by painting the grill this helps the 4G alot but you have to be careful there also. Someone near my work has a 4G with a completely painted black grill and it looks alot like the Camry sport model.

Others have tried saying that the polarizing look is similar to the CTS when it first came out, but i dont buy that. The CTS is a very attractive car and at least the body lines along with the front and rear have a similar theme and flow together. Nothing flows from the front to the back in the 4g. I actually hate the rear more than the front.

I am actually considering a 4G 6MT in the fall when my lease expires mainly because i want something sporty and it must be AWD. The main (and very important) thing holding me back is that damn exterior styling and it will probably be the deal breaker especially when you put the styling of an A4, CTS or a 335ix beside it which are the other cars im considering.

Ugliest Honda/Acura:

4G TL, hands down. I still can't figure out what the fuck the designer was thinking when he penned that car. I just can't bring myself to like the exterior, though the interior is AWESOME.

The Ridgeline is also ass ugly.

The BEST-looking: 2G Legend Coupe , 2G RL , early 90's Accord and Civic, S2000, 3G TL, 2G CRX . All classics in my book.

My dad owned a Honda 600 when we lived in England in he 70's. It was a great liitle car!

I will agree that the 2G RL (except this years MMC) is very attractive. IMO i think its the nicest design out there by Acura.

BTW...sorry for being a little off topic but speaking of CTS's in my earlier post. I must say Neuronbob, I saw a 2009 CTS-V at my GM dealer today in the same color as yours and DAMN.....you have a very nice ride.

2G Legend coupe is a classic. I'd love to get one of those some day in my life. After so many years it still looks so good and yummy.. My favorite video of 2nd Gen Legend coupe..

The tall Civic wagon, the G1 Insight and the 4G TL all get my vote for fugliest. The Del Sol however is neither ugly nor gay. Not very fast nor perfect proportioned but it is a 'nice' little targa runabout with lots of room for its size. The S2K is better looking and a better car but I just don't fit.

I may keep my Del Sol forever and still get lots of positive attention.

I love the wagovans. Especially the 88-91s (Im a sucker for the EFs).

And the first gen Odyssey is f*cking awesome. You can drop an H22 in there and have the ultimate sleeper. Its basically an Accord.

I'm a 4th gen Prelude man myself. I've had two VTEC models (a 94 and a 95) and I still think its one of the best looking Hondas ever made inside and out. I think the Prelude was the first car with truly triangular tailights (and if not, its the first I remember). It also had ginormous rear fender flares that looked just perfect rolling on 17's. Just loved that car....

*Edit, I forgot about the XJ....

While I wouldnt say the 4th gen lude is ugly...I never consider it a lude either.

If you go from a 3g to a 4g you are immediately like WTF? Its as if Honda didnt even design the car. The ergonomics are weird. the "all the way across" dash was interesting.

It was fun to drive, but to me it was NOT a prelude. You can go 2g,3g,5g seamlessly. The 4g seems like some oddball runt of the litter to me.

First car out of college was a 2G Prelude Si, great car, nice 12 valve motor, light, handled well, totaled when a 1G Prelude hit it head-on in a snowstorm. I liked all the Preludes except for the 1G.

Was the 4G the one with the blue florescent bar-graph displays for the fuel and temp?

My displays were more green than blue, but yes they were bar graphs.

, two piston front calipers, 230HP V6, yeah they're nice. I'm casually looking for sedan around Balt/DC.
The 6MT's are hard to find.

4G-TL
most of the cars look better in person than pix.

However, 4G TL is not the case. They look ugly in pix and look even worse in person.

and those 16" looking wheels dont help either.

I loved my 94 VTEC. It handled great, drove great, and looked great. I dont like the 5th gen at all. They made it too girly IMO.

I agree that the design language didnt translate from the 3rd to the 4th, but it was possibly the best car I've owned. It was tough seeing it drive off with the new owner.

See, I felt the 4g was more feminine.

The 5G was more evolutionary from the 3G, and brought it back to a sleeker more aggressive look.

But to each their own. I have no real hate for the 4G.

^ its Toyota equivalent had a 6speed automatic.

Personally, I think the 4g is ugliest. Best looking? 7G accord, Legends, 3G TL.

I drove it the first day it came out and I've had it as a loaner.

I'd rather put the Accord sedan exterior on the 4G TL..

I was talking about production vehicles.

Anyone who doesnt know what the RA271 is (or the 270, 272, and 273) needs to find some pictures of them. Its amazing to see how far Honda as a company has come (and lately how far they have fallen).

F1 cars don't count at least I assume that's an F1 car.... sounds like a chassis designation.
