What oil is best for TL?
What's the best oil for a tl? It has 18k on it and plan to have it for awhile. I live in PA so it gets hot in the summer an cold in the winter. My delema is that regular oil gets thinner quicker for winter time but once hot synthetic protects better. So what's the best trade off? Or just do synthetic blend? Basically is mobile 1 or regular oil better? I always did mobile. But I want the best for the car and to keep it running the best longer.

Any quality oil should be fine. It's not that big of a deal.

Any major name brand synthetic should be just fine for it.

Synthetic flows better at lower temperatures AND it holds up better under high temperatures. Plain and simple, it is a superior product.
As to the "right oil" ... viscosity is VERY important as is following the maintenance minder. Look on the oil cap to make the proper determination as to the viscosity.
I do recommend Genuine Honda/Acura lubricants and an Acura dealership, but only you can make that personal choice.
FYI, the Honda/Acura basic product IS a synthetic blend ... made by ConocoPhillips to AHMC's exacting specifications.

Seriously, any quality brand oil should be fine. It's a TL, not a racing car.

0w-20 would give you the absolute best coverage in the absolute worst conditions for your area, but like others said, any major brand will do fine. Fact is something else will surely kill your car before engine wear will.
That said, if you were looking to keep the engine for 500k+ mi, the most wear occurs at cold temperature start up. Like Jim said, synthetic flows the best at cold temps and is the reason why synthetic is the only oil with a 0 weight rating. If you can find a good deal, synthetic lasts longer and justifies a slightly higher price IMHO.

Personally I would stick with 5W20. Either Dino or Synthetic would be fine. If you drive a lot you may want to consider synthetic. I would go with Mobil 1 if you go synthetic.
I live in PA. You should be fine with just 5W20. We get cold but not that cold.
