Park Acura in Akron, Ohio has clean TSX and TL as loaners. Sure, a multi-franchise dealer might mix Audis, Acuras, Infinitis, etc but I think it's bad business.

The Detroit-area dealers have loaners, I believe, but I've never needed any.

Oh also what i found interesting is that the MSRP sticker has taken off a bit over $5k as a dealer loaner. Arent the MSRP printed out at the factory? So i guess all Audi dealers get their own loaners?

For one, this is an Auto with no sport package.

I do think the 2.0t rocks but this is stock.. its doesnt impress me that much over my modded 1.8t. Low end this thing is nice for city driving but a dog on the highway.

Im sure a modded 2.0t would kick ass though. But no, this car doesnt have me wanting it even though i LOVE the front end.

I never get a loaner, if I need waranty work done I drop my car off and pick it up when the dealer is closed.

Who do you usually deal with? Whenever I drop my car off I end up leaving it with Doug, and he's always hooked me up with some nice TSX loaners I don't think he's even supposed to, since I'm too young

I never deal with anyone, I just leave the keys in the drop box and have them lock them in the car when they are done. I purchased the car at Curry Acura, but that's a little far to go for waranty work so I bring it to Northeast Acura.

I hear you about the age thing, when I was a little younger then you I had purchased a new Cadillac - it was in the dealership literally every week for something breaking, falling off or plain just not working during my ownership of the car(but that's another story all together....). At the time I purchased it I was told if it ever needed to come in for service, let them know in advanced you need a loaner and they will have a car of equal or greater value ready for me to drive off. Well as the free market would have it, it seemed my $40k+ Cadillac depreciated very quickly because I was given a 1989 Olds cutlass wagon with 234k miles on the clock when my car was one month old - equal or greater value? eh

Now I was a level headed teen, but that just plain fucking pissed me off so I beat the shit out of that car - I had gotten it so many times I called it the mule. If they had given me a decent car I would have treated it like it was my own, but that was a slap in the face - in particular when my car was laid up for over 2 weeks once. Paying over $600 a month and for two weeks of that month I was driving a $1000 dollar car I am getting pissed just talking about that car.... I need to go have a drink...

BTW are you back in town?

Acura of Portland loans out TSXs. Ron Tonkin gives TSXs and TLs (I think). Does the dealer have to buy their loaner cars or are they "given" to the dealership? Stupid question, I know, but the window stickers for the loaner cars we've had always say "dealer loaner car" in the price box.

Precision Acura of Princeton gives TSX's, TL's & MDX's. The two times I needed a loaner I got TSX's. I'd like to try a TL one time! But on the other hand, I'm very thankful I have a reliable car and don't need loaners all the time!

When I was driving a Chrysler once they almost didn't give me a loaner b/c I was too young, but my family was a good customer so they did it anyway. But they gave me this beat up crap Chevy Cavalier. It was purple but you could barely tell with all the mud all over it. It had 132,000 miles on it and was barely running. I literally thought I was going to die in it. The thing was such a dog I thought I'd get run over before I could get it up to 40 mph, and the windows were incredibly small and I couldn't see out to change lanes. The damn thing was a death trap!!

They probably get an accomodation price - i.e. not "dealer invoice" their discount percentage is more then likely based on the amount of waranty work they do.

Someone had mentioned seeing a "not for resale" type of sticker...

I've been doing my maintance myself, so I haven't had to use a dealer in awhile...

Inskip Acura in RI (blows) gives out enterprize rentals I've gotten a Toyota Echo, Ford Escort, and Dodge Neon...

If I get the dealer to do my 45K maint, I'll probably goto First Acura (they moved to Seekonk, MA) as I've heard they give out Acura loaners...

Jesal, you need to be a good son and do a better job of shoveling the driveway next time

...which reminds me...if Acura of Portland does not have any loaner cars available, they call up Enterprise and they let you choose a vehicle. One time, they brought over a Nissan Altima, Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, and a Dodge Durango (a Hemi). Was there even a choice? GIMME THE HEMI!

Should be $151 for oil change, tire rotation, checks, lube the door hinges, etc... They usually have to adjust the parking brake (I've got a 6spd) and they put on a set of new wiper blades (ohhh... $10 whoopie)... The dealers in the MA/RI area are in cahoots (same price no matter who you call)... Bulldog01 got his for $89 in NH tho'.

That's the main reason I do the maint myself now... Even the 30K was just air filter (I've got a K&N now - $40 something), cabin filter ($21) and a oil change and tire rotation. They wanted $500 for that... no thanks.

BMW has free maintance don't they... (run flat tires too ) ?

Yeah that is nice, but after the warranty is up is when the major maintenance occurs...and we all know how reliable Euros are after their warranty is up....

Do companies offer manual transmissions on their loaners? I always ask my mom to get a manual car when the Tl goes into service but it is always a auto.

Good point but they should at least ask you if you would like an auto or manual car.

I have only had to have a loaner twice and each time I got an 03 base accord. The dealer that I bought my car from has a Honda and Acura dealership in the same parking lot so all loaners are Honda's
