I hear the neighbors one daily at school. He lives 8 houses from the school, so by the time his car is there, it is unlikely its fully warmed up. My best days are when I am behind him and just hearing him idling though the school line....

Leaving cub scouts yesterday easy through first and got on it a little in second, but still not close to redline as I'm trying to be good with break in. Wife got home last night and said "I heard you driving like an asshole when you left the meeting".

you want to make sure the motor sees the whole range and not sit at a constant rpm... as long as you aren't sitting at redline for a long period of time... or does Dodge have a different break in process?

: BREAK IN PROCEDURE : It is recommended for the operator to observe the following driving behaviors during the new vehicle break-in period:
0 to 100 miles (0 to 161 km):
• Do not allow the engine to operate at idle for an extended period of time.
• Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration.
• Avoid aggressive braking.
• Drive with the engine speed less than 3,500 RPM.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 55 mph (88 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

100 to 300 miles (161 to 483 km):
• Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration in lower gears (1st to 3rd gears).
• Avoid aggressive braking.
• Drive with the engine speed less than 5,000 RPM.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 70 mph (112 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

300 to 500 miles (483 to 805 km):
• Exercise the full engine rpm range, shifting manually (paddles or gear shift) at higher rpms when possible.
• Do not perform sustained operation with the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 85 mph (136 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

And finally............500 miles (805 kms ) plus......go like hell

Varying RPM means mainly try to avoid using cruise control, etc. I think most new cars encourage you to take it easy for the break-in period and not go over a certain rev limit.

Congrats!!!!! That's a BEAST!

As for the brake dust, you should keep the oem pads and ceramic coat the wheels. Then you can just rinse off the dust every time very easily.

Only about 275 right now. Driving it to Wilmington North Carolina on Sunday night for work so it'll definitely be broken in by the time I arrive.

Edit: JB, going from Wilmington to Asheville on Wednesday afternoon. I could take the route to swing through a certain city!

Nice! Then you can rip through some mountain roads in/around Asheville!

Let me know if you pass through this way. I should be around next week

Damn man, that may be the most nicely-spec’d Hellcat I’ve seen. Always preferred the Charger HC to the Challenger but yours really is the perfect blend of balls and understated menace. Love it and congrats 👍👍

Update: Car passed the 500 mile mark while driving up to NC today, so I let it rip a few times. Triple digits from 60 come really quick! Its definitely going to take some getting used to. Tried my first 0-60 and got a 4.4 with lots of wheelspin. Better times shouldn't be too hard.
