What to get for a second car??

Ok, so I have had the TL for about two and half months now and already have close to 6k miles on it!!! So, I decided to get a second car to be my daily driver. I want something fun, and something that is reliable and/or has a warranty. My budget is about $11k. Doesn't have to have much room for anyone else but me. HAS TO BE A MANUAL!! What do y'all recommend??

I have been thinking about either one of these:

-Mazda MP3-I had one of these when they first came out. They don't have much power, but handle like they are on rails.

-Nissan Sentra SER Spec V-don't know much about these besides the fact that they have just under 180hp. I am going to test drive one today.

-Nissan Maxima-about a 2000 or 2001. They are rare in my budget, but some pop up. My brother-in-law had one and it was a lot of fun. Good room also.

Honda Civic-obviously one of the best small cars. I would look into getting a 99-00 with either a turbo or superhcarger.

Acura Integra-same as civic.

Honda Accord V6-about a 99-00. Again, good reliability and fun when modded.

What else?????

I was gonna say a crappy old pickup, but from the looks of your list, I don't think that's where you're going...

Scion Xb, if you're looking for something to haul crap around.... I've seen used ones for $11K already.

Its not like the TL is really going to be worth shit soon if not now anyways and ontop of that its not like its undrivable in winter. I say save the 11k or get a bike or boat or sled or something else.

yeah what is the big deal that your TL has 6K in 2.5 months. If it is on a lease, then just take that 11K you were going to put towards another car and put that away get a tiny amount of interests then pay the over mileage charge....or there are always ways around this

Ha, I would LOVE to get a bike, but, I would kill myself on it. Seriously though, I would just about be disowned from the family if I bought a bike. They are totally cool about everything else, but the bike is a no-no. And, my job is in the family business, and I don't want to piss them off!!

ok, seriously, I have been debating this for a while now. Here are my two options:

1) Do not get a second car and mad the crap out of the TL-supercharger, etc.

2) Get a second car to play and mod with, and keep the TL as a nice cruiser.

The mileage is a personal thing. Also, I trade out of my cars a lot, so, the less miles, the more the trade-in value. I have actually not kept a car longer than a year and a half. Bad habit I know, but I love cars and want everything.

The key thing in getting a second car is getting something that is completely different than the first.

I was switching out between my '01 CLS and a '94 Mercury Capri XR2 (limited edition only 366 made). My wife was still driving her college car a '95 Kia Sportage 4x4.

It was nice having a real car (the CLS) and having a project car. The capri was also a convertible and a stick so it was fun to drive and just very different than the CL.

Then we were expecting a baby so I got rid of the CLS and got the wife a Mercury Mountaineer.

So, for right now I am switching between the Sportage and the Capri. Huge difference but I like it. When there is bad weather the little 4x4 is excellent and when there is good weather the Capri is fun in the sun. I also go out to construction sites so the 4x4 does get used now.

I am in the process of selling the Capri because I can't put my daughter in it. I am seriously considering getting an '03 CL-S 6speed for my fun/project car and continuing using the Sportage as my every day driver. It really would be a good combination for me.

It is also nice having an extra car if one goes in the shop or if you have relatives fly into town, they don't have to rent a car.

i know AHH MIATA !!! chicks car!

if you seriously drive a Miata it handles Great and is actually a very very very fun car to tear around in. with minor bolt ons and suspension mods u have a daily driver and u can go auto-x'in when ever. If you like straight line speed Jackson racing has a Supercharger kit available. Test drive one its actually a pritty good car.
