What do you do for "fun" driving?

When you're bored or feel like driving hard, what do you guys do? Do you go to an empty interstate early in the morning or do you guys use a radar detector?

One of my favorites is to take the car to the mountains and take a mountain road...

But, if that is not possible, and it's just the city, a nice drive around town towards the later part of an evening is always nice.

^^ I tried that once when i went to the countryside and warped my front rotors. The tsx in stock form does not like being "raced."

Hit the back roads in the Brandywine Valley near my office. It's relieved the stress a few times.

+1 on corners. also love the windy roads here in GA (minus the potholes). I have a favorite stretch near work.

Brakes are the weak point. After a good 15 minutes of heavy left foot braking, they start to get stinky.

It's fun nonetheless for what it is...a FWD 4 banger from Handa!

and kind of aggressive driving is fun almost completely regardless of what car you drive.

My case: Wait till winter, find an abandoned lot, and make sure my handbrake is working fully

Don't get me wrong, I love my '09 TSX. But i usually don't hammer it too hard - particularly because of the brakes and body roll.

My stress reliever is a '09 370z 6mt With Sport Package on the twisties

Twisties.... until my car was too low to corner hard.... not to mention the snap oversteer. So I ended up cruising PCH along the ocean and beaches. Very relaxing at night.

Some sort of vw based offroad vehicle, and the Sonoran desert. Most of the windy roads in Tucson have homes lining them and Mt Lemon is either filled with cars or heavily patrolled. I'm not one for dunes, but there are a number of unpaved roads that run through the various foothills that are quite a bit of fun if you have a car and you don't mind abusing it's paint.

I drive too much for work. So for me, I saddle up on one of my Hogs... Usually the red one.

This handles all of my fun driving:

Accelerating hard out of a corner always brings a smile to my face.

I wait for the next auto x/lapping day or drive out into the country where i know there are some great roads. If its winter i take the ice racer out on to the lake and have fun.

I enjoy early morning runs through the twisty bits about 45 minutes from my home. For pure, unadulterated fun however, opening all the venturi on an 8V big block Ford and feeling the world get yanked backwards is especially gratifying.

I make sure I get a really good parking space and don't drive my car until the following week's street cleaning.
