What car should I get?

I love the 2007 Acura TL-S Specially that Moroccan Red Pearl Color, But I dont know, I like the new G37 but I hate buying a CAR BRAND NEW, it loses value like nothing, I can get a Used 07 TL-S For around $30k or so if I look around, so its already taken a hit on resale, so I can probably end up selling it for $25k+ in 2 Years, While a G37 Brand new will probably run $40k and Will be worth $27-30k in 2 Years, I dont change my cars up often, but I would like to have the option of Changing it if I find another car.

Also I like the TL, for some reason always have because its a Sedan, I dont know I am just not a Coupe type of Guy, Money isnt that big of a concern, But I wouldnt be able to go more thank $40k, so what all other choices do I have?

The Main thing that Makes me love the TL-S is the Navigation, Its so great, and I have a 2003 G35 Sedan with Navi and it SUCKS! I know the newer ones are better in the New Infiniti's but are they on Par with the HONDA/ACURA Ones?

So my Main Concerns:

1) Good Resale
2) Good Navigation
3) Good Reliability and Long Run TOO

Any other Choices I have in My Price Range?

Another thing I forgot to point out is, I hate buying a Car and finding out a New Generation is OUT! Thats why I am kinda staying away from the TL, because in a year there will be a 4th Generation out, while with the G37 I can have a car that wont get changed for 3 Years at least (Refresh) and 5 years for a New Generation

problem is that with all cars, designs will get renewed or refreshed.

if you could wait for the '09 TL, that would be a good option.

personally, i'd jump at a chance to get a TL Type-S at $30k. but it doesn't seem like you really want the TL.

if you like the g37 but don't want a coupe, why not do the obvious and look into a g35 sedan?

I Think your Right Ken, I will wait for the 2009 Acura TL, I hate myself everytime I want to buy something I end up waiting! I want a 2004 TL in 2003, and ended up buying a 03 G35 Sedan like last year and Now I want a 2009 HAHA!

I have a 2003 G35 Sedan, Infiniti Really Didnt Impress me much, but the Coupe is always hotter than the Sedan thats why I was considering it, And the New G35 Sedan Doesnt Seem enough of a Upgrade for some reason, I mean The Exterior has been changed very little, I mean people Still look at it and dont go "WOW IS THAT THE NEW G SEDAN", While even with the 07 TL-S I look at it and can see myself staring at it

Alright so Who has the Spyshots of the new 09 TL with all the interior pictures and everything!?

I just hope it dont turn huge like a Boat, like the new Accord

Before I end this CONVO, What Do You guys think about that new A5/S5 Audi?

I think its inevitable that the next TL will be a boat like the Accord. There's no engine option or feature on the next TL that Acura can impress me with aside from RWD, and RWD only. I'm pretty sure its gonna be based off of the USDM Accord platform again. 99% sure that my next car will be anything but a 2009+ TL.

Audi A5 is also very nice, but would not settle for anything except for one equipped with Quattro. A5 is a very beautiful car, Acura is going to milk the TL for as long as they can, its making money for them, and they're going to stretch it for as long as they can. I'm seriously going to laugh if the next TL is FWD. The TL-S will HAVE TO have SH-AWD, otherwise I'll be delighted, because I, for one, would LOVE to see a stock 325+ HP FWD vehicle.

I seriously wonder how long Acura can use FWD in its lineups.

Just so you know if you can find any leftover TL-S i got a price quote on one that i turned down for only $32,950 + TTL and that was with 18 miles on it. I will have no car payment on my 06 TSX with only 7200 miles on it so i decided to keep mine car for a while but really wanted the TL-S. I'm sure they will have some HUGE sales on any 08's if they are left right before the new 09 redesigned ones come out, so maybe you could pick one up then too...

There is no way that a $40k G37 is worth $27-30k in 2 years unless it's got 60k miles on it.

Seriously, how can you even decide what your options are when you're throwing around hypotheses like that?

1. even though the new g35 has the same look as the previous sedan, i think the changes are more than "very little." i think the new headlights, lines, wheels, dual exhaust, size, etc. make it a much more aggressive and meaner looking car.

and besides, to me, even though exterior still holds the same image, the HUGE upgrade is the interior, which is just beautiful.

but looks are all subjective anyways.

2. does it really matter what other people say or think when they see your car? you may stare at the new TL-S all day, but i know many people who think it's just another TL.

but once again, looks are all subjective.

3. how about an IS350?

i vote 08 Accord V-6 6 Speed, with navi.
yes i know Honda isn't the "name" of Acura or like a G37 HOWEVER :
it's reliable, great resale, and good navi.
plus the money left over you were looking to spend on a G37 throw some rims/tires on it.

For the long run I suggest you to wait for the 09 TL as well. If you're looking for right now, you can't go wrong with the TypeS. I would test drive the G37 as well to get an idea. I know no one has mentionned it but test drive the 335i.If you are willing to spend more the N54 engine should be reliable for the required two years, and still be 25-30K value. I testify my own experience with it so far. I have about 16,000kms and no problems so far.Good luck.

Well its 99% certain that the '09 TL will have SH-AWD. The spyshots I have seen seem to back this up. SH-AWD will give the car far more sports sedan credibility.

I have to disagree, I think he's right on when he gives that estimate because its gonna take a 3-5k hit right off the lot and then there is such a glut of Infiniti G series on the road now that you can pick them up for a pretty good price. Its all a matter of supply and demand and the supply is larger than the demand at least where I live. I realize its a G37 not G35 but still its not that different of a car so people aren't going to value it that much more.

G35 sedan is much improved over last model (and there's no way a G37 will be worth only $27k in 2 years unless its salvaged). Problem is I don't think you'll be able to find a new G37 for $40k. Ditto the IS350 or the 335i. They're all in the $40-$45k area moderately equipped.....
