I think the term sleeper is a bit elastic, what is a sleeper to some may not be to others. I think car people over estimate non-car people's knowledge of cars, I honestly don't think most normal car owners know the difference from a M3 to a 328i, by appearance or spec. Some clown the other day asked how I liked the V4 in my S2000 when I was filling up at the gas station.
Personally I don't think a Civic Si is a sleeper or fast, I appreciate the car for what it is, but I look at everyone that passes and a 6.7sec. 0-60 is far from impressive. I think a 335i sedan is a sleeper to most, it really doesn't look as fast as it is, and is indistinguishable from a 328i to the untrained eye.

Not sure I understand this reply. From what I have read the V8 will be available in the coupe once it is available as well being a current option in the sedan.
So saying V8 could imply either...however, the coupe is not out yet which is the confusing part of his reply.

A V8 Hyundai coupe, that would be a real sleeper

I'm not sure the V8 Genesis sedan is out either. Is it?? I thought they were unloading the V6' sedans first, and then the V8's are coming out at a later time...

5.9 is very believable for the 6MT Accord coupe. That engine is very underrated.

Actually, the BMW 335i sedan is a sleeper in the best sense of the word- 0-60 in 4.8-5.2 and quarter mile in the mid-to-high 13s in 6M form- and looks like a plain 4-door compact import, esp. with the stock wheels.
The 535i might fit in as a sleeper, less than five-tenths slower than the 335i in 0-60 and quarter-mile.
The newest V6 Camry SE is a second slower than the 335i, but is competitive with the Accord V6.

What Would Don Draper Do?
c'mon. an audi S as a sleeper?
and i believe the genesis coupe will only get the 4 and 6 cylinder engines. i haven't read any news of the v8 being in the coupe. but it's been awhile since i've been in the coupe thread.

Regarding the Genesis:
1) The coupe is getting a turbo 4 and a V6. This is based on information from Hyundai. And I've been in the coupe thread recently...no new news, just bitching about the dip on rear quarter window (guilty ).
2) The V8 isn't available in the US at this point (that I'm aware of), but it is being advertised on TV and the magazines have been given one to test drive. Therefore, official times are readily available.
jb - if you have new info that supercedes #1, please post a link...I (and I'm sure others) would be very interested in it.
