That looks really great! I need to do the exact same thing to my car. The Acura dealership is offering this "LenzSaver" special for $150 but that's just highway robbery.

I would love to know what your methods are and the products you used in the process.

Thanks!

I'd like to know how you did it. I have a friend with a Soarer (Lexus SC) that could use it.

I think 3M makes a kit IIRC ... Someone on the AudiZine board did it ... I'll look for details on what they used.

Seems like you can just use a high grit sandpaper and wet sand... then maybe finish it off with a some PlastX?

I have some rock chips in my headlight lens... wonder if this'll smooth em out!

From Megs: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=20994

Note: when I've wet sanded in the past, I've always used soapy water...

yeah i used 1000 grit for about 10-15 min, then 1500 grit for about 10-15, and 2000 grit for about 15-20 while putting a lot of water on my headlights and sanded it down good.
then i used a 3m rubbing compound and put about a quarter size on the rag and rubbed it in good
then i used meg's polish something (it says like stage 2 crystal something on the bottle) and rubbed that in good (that's when i noticed the lights started to get real clear)
then last i used meg's carunaba wax or something (i hope i spelt that right) and rubbed it in good and voila, good to go.

i was hesitant at 1st to do it on my tl so i used the test subject (the hyundai) cuz it needed one badly too and yeah turned out great i did the TL last night and it came out good as new again =]

damn. you sat there rubbing each headlight for over an hour? time per headlight + material costs - i would have opted for the $150 service as mentioned above.

Very smart for someone so young. Don't let these guys get to you. Keep beating up the DD, and you can save $$$ for a new car as you go.

I need to do that to the head lights on my I35. Too much crap from a ton of highway driving.

Do you guys sand back and forth or in a circular pattern?

Very nice...Hyundai headlights are notorious for real bad (and often premature) hazing.

I hate bumping threads, but can anybody tell me what products they used? I'm about to order supplies for this project and want to be 100% certain they will look great.

Meguiar's makes a kit that includes the sanding and polishing materials needed.

Did it today, looks way better than before! If you are considering this DIY, go for it. It takes almost no time and looks MUCH nicer.
