I do a decent amount of business with Land Rover's in my area, one of the dealers that I do a ton of business with owns 4 stores on LI, NY. So they invite their customers/owners to experience what their Land Rovers are about and what they are capable of doing twice a year. This is my third time doing it, and I was with my brother in law (who works w/ me too), it was his first time.

For starters, it was raining all night, and was still raining when we got there. That made for pretty muddy conditions throughout the course. It cleared up a bit, just had some annoying mist, so that somewhat helped make the courses a bit easier to run through. I took a few pics, but mostly some video's with my phone. Quality isn't great, but you get the idea. The video doesn't show much of what we went through, or the severity of the inclines or declines, but for someone who is a novice and driving someone elses car, not to mention the price of a $70k Range Rover Sport Supercharged, things could get exciting. The power of the S/C motor, not to mention the standard 20" wheels/tires didn't help keep the ride smooth either. This time around it was slightly different experience than my last two times because of the slick conditions. There were other parts of the course that I have been through that are even more challenging but they found it to be too dangerous and removed it from the course this time around because of the weather conditions. The tires were aired down for better traction on all cars (except for the LR2's) as well.

About the car, it belonged to the sales rep that I work with. He was unable to make it, so he let me beat the crap out of his car because I don't have my own...The amusing part was that most of the staff knew it was that guys car (his name is Anthony) and encouraged us to beat his car up even more...They saw us coming, commenting that it's his car and telling us to push it harder...

I went on the tour of the Rover factory in England two years ago and was very impressed. They're such capable vehicles it's a shame most owners will never know how great they really are.
