haha. I wish I could run deep dish but the calipers are to big on the rear. even with an 11in wheel I can only get like a 3in lip at most more likely a 2.5.

So I received my ISS Forged Track Exhaust this past Tuesday and went about installing it that night.

Took me a long 5 hours but that is mainly from having to craw out from under the car so many times due to only have about 14-16in of clearance under it with jack stands. The exhaust was however very easy to install though and looks absolutely amazing. The most difficult part of the exhaust install is removing the factory exhaust tip/air diffusers. Pretty sure it was expected your would remove the bumper to take these off but I didn't want to do that. If you have average size hands or smaller though and a ratchet wrench not socket you should be able to do it. Also make sure to get your self an exhaust hanger tool as some of the hangers are a *****. The muffler hangers are the worst but luckily since I had mine removed the new hangers were easy to get off. For doing it with jack stands I suggest bolting the two middle sections together first and then raising the back half up and hooking it into the exhaust hangers. then use your jack as a lift about placed in about the middle to light the exhaust into place so that way it is held there and you can easily connect the bolts.

I am hoping the including gaskets were to go between the first and second pipes of the exhaust and the connection to the factory header was to use the original factory gaskets. I hope this is right so I don't possibly have an exhaust leak. I don't have a check engine light so I don't think so but the exhaust is definitely louder than stock exhaust with the secondary cats and mufflers removed. There is definitely a good bit of drone between 1-2k rpm but I am hoping this is because its new and because the mufflers need to break in and should quiet up after a few hundred miles. I have had this experience with exhausts on other cars so I hope it will be the same here. If it doesn't tone down a little headers will definitely be out unless I switch to the street version mid pipe.

Front and mid section connected ahead of time. Only way I could really figure out how I was going to do it with jack stands. Also not sure how easy it would be to get to the one top bolt in the middle if it was installed in pieces on the car.


My method for installing with only one person. Actually worked even better than I had thought. Once the two pieces were bolted together I lifted the rear up and into the rubber hangers. Then raised the front into place with the jack. Also made it easy to put the bolts into place since I didn't have hold it at the same time.

Exactly why it might be an issue in the long run. I have a 7 hour trip home to visit family this weekend and it might be hell. I might have to stop and find a place that sells ear plugs at some point if it gets to bad. There is a long hill climb during one section and I am worried about that.

 

Yeah pretty sure they hate me. Those runs both nights were at like 8pm. I got to like 60mph too lol.

 

Yeah doing the installs yourself is the best part of modding.

 

It makes more sense to buy a house than a second car that cost 40k, IMO.

Luckily it isn't really a hard fix. It will cost a bit of money but they make a track and street version of the exhaust. They designed them exactly the same except for the middle section of the exhaust. So you can just buy the middle section from the street exhaust which has a resonator in place of the xpipe which is to remove the drone. I get 27whp with the track and only about 21 with the street. So I went with the track exhaust first figuring with how loud my tsx is that it wouldn't be to loud however I am not sure now.

Great to hear! At least you have a way out, if you're not totally happy. Plus...and additional 21 hp isn't bad.

 

Thats the hope. To tell you the truth on the daily commute I could probably put up with it. As of right now I have no need to take people anywhere for work so means I don't have to worry about my toys being proper for the time being. The long trips are the only thing that worry me.

I realize that... I do the same. But you're not 24, and you also (by way of your profile info, which I acknowledge could be incorrect) don't drive over $80,000.00 worth of cars. An additional 10 years of being in the workforce goes a long way towards saving money. It's a little hard to save enough money to put almost $40k into a TSX and buy a $50k ISF by the time you're 24 years old.

Love that exhaust! The original setup sounded good, but the new one sounds great!! As for drone, it's a matter of tolerance. I don't notice, nor am I bothered by, the drone from my exhaust; passengers tend to notice and hate it.

And waiting for wheels sucks, especially if they're late, as they usually are.

 

Well actually this custom wheel company is amazing. They are sending me a temporary set of wheels for an event I am attending on April 2nd and then another which I am attending on April 17th. Since I am buy wheels and tires from them they will ship the temp set with my new tires on. I can rock them and then when my set is complete I will send them back and they will move the tires to my new wheels. Talk about service.

The exhaust tips look like they're still scratched a fair bit though. Maybe go over the with some metal polish?

Old Pink CE28Ns from the TSX temporarily on since my one tire was showing cords. A lot smaller than the factory 19s and not nearly as much contact surface but I guess it is better than a tire with cords showing through. 18x8 with 215/40/18 all around.



New wheels should be here Wednesday or Thursday of next week Thankfully.
